The year 1992 features a handful of mainstream flicks shot in Las Vegas, including adult and children's pictures. They revolve around light and funny stories using Vegas as a backdrop. Bringing their own quirks and nuances to the city's locations, these movies are able to showcase the city's flair, from its casino fantasyland structures to its cartoonish landscapes.

"Cool World"

"Cool World" combines cel animation with live-action footage to showcase the city as a splashy, fanciful, and cartoonish land for adults. Even its animated world resembles the look of its live-action Las Vegas setting. The film sets the story in post-War and contemporary Las Vegas. "Cool World" is initially set in 1945, a time when a cop gets accidentally transported into the animated universe known as Cool World following a motorcycle crash.

After the period-era prologue, the story jumps forward to 1992, when an ex-con cartoonist finds himself pulled into Cool World by a sexy blond doodle. This animated vixen crosses over to the human world to find the Golden Spike of Power, which is located at the Plaza Hotel and Casino. The artifact serves as a gateway between the two worlds, which can prompt her to release a number of monstrous cartoons on the real world.

"Honey, I Blew Up the Kid"

"Honey, I Blew Up the Kid," the sequel to the 1989 Disney flick "Honey, I Shrunk the Kids, explores the story of a wacky inventor who accidentally zaps his 2-year-old son with a particle beam that causes the kid to grow at every contact with electricity. Growing more than 100 feet tall, the boy is captivated by the bright lights of the glitzy side of Las Vegas, which he thinks is one big playground. His enormous size leads him to rampaging through the desert, then to the tourist attractions around the city.

The film highlights a handful of Las Vegas landmarks during the 1990s. These include the Hard Rock Cafe, where the giant baby rips off the guitar from the sign thinking it's a toy; the Wet 'n Wild Water Park, where he finds more exciting toys to play with; and Fremont Street, where he frolics around the fancy lights of the area. He also wreaks havoc around the Mirage Hotel and Casino, with scenes reminiscent of the destruction seen in classic creature-features such as the "Attack of the 50 Foot Woman," "The Fly," "King Kong," and "Godzilla."

"Honeymoon in Vegas"

The romantic comedy "Honeymoon in Vegas" features the struggles of a couple after finally deciding to tie the knot in Las Vegas. The man is still bothered by his promise to his mother on her deathbed that he will never get married. Making things worse, he loses thousands of dollars in a poker game, a wealthy gambler arranging to clear his debt in exchange for a weekend with the groom-to-be's fiancee.

This movie is mostly set around Bally's Casino Resort. It features a heartwarming climax where a planeload of Flying Elvises go skydiving with the groom to reach his bride. Keeping up with the distinctive elements seen around the bright and colorful city, the couple is also seen in a small Las Vegas chapel, the groom wearing a white illuminated jumpsuit and the bride wearing a stolen showgirl costume.
