Surprisingly, 2010 marks the first ever annual Oktoberfest on the Hudson hosted by World Yacht. The event kicks off on Saturday, September 18 from 12:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Festivities will be held on Pier 81 in New York City.
If you've never been to an Oktoberfest celebration before, now is your chance. Become a part of history as New York City has its first of many (hopefully) similar fall festivals. With plenty of German beers, food and entertainment to be had, there's no reason not to attend. This is the rare chance to experience genuine German folk music and food at the same time.
Pier 81 will be transformed into a unique beer garden overlooking the beautiful Hudson River. Festival organizers will be offering plenty of real German beers, bratwurst and live German music. Perhaps because the city has never had an Oktoberfest before, they are going all out with the help of World Yacht.
An optional one-hour cruise is available during the event for an additional fee. So, kick off the end of summer with an outdoor event before the cold weather comes in.
World Yacht began in 1981 and is one of the leading dining cruise and event organizers in New York. The company has its own fleet, including three dining yachts and a pier for events such as Oktoberfest.
Come check out Oktoberfest on the Hudson at Pier 81 (West 41 Street & 12th Avenue). Advance tickets cost $10 for Beer Garden admission and $15 for Beer Garden admission plus the cruise. Tickets the day of the event cost $15 and $20, respectively. Admission does not include food or drinks.
