1st Ever Ecocert Certified Organic Wear Mascara from Physicians Formula

It's As Good as Having False Eyelashes

Susan Slade
5 X Lash boosting, 100% natural origin Physicians Formula mascara now available in stores. I picked up my Ultra Black Organics, number 1062, mascara in Walgreens drugstore. It retailed at $9.79, and I received a $7 register coupon, to use on my next visit.

The packaging is very eye catching. It is green, and has everything to do with being organic, and eco friendly. It states on the box that it is "100% free of harsh chemicals, synthetic preservatives, parabens, clumping, smudging flaking, fibers, and dyes. 100% recyclable eco-brush. EcoBlend featuring organisoy & Eco-olive."

The mascara has a beige color tube, with green leaves on it. It has 'Organic Wear' between the leaves. It is fatter at the wand end, slims down, and then has a huge bright green cap, with the wand attached to it, in the shape of a leaf. The net weight is .26 ounce (7.5 g).

I was really excited to try this new Physicians Formula knowing 100% of the total ingredients are from natural origin. It made me feel good to know that I was buying something earth friendly. Secondly I couldn't wait for a mascara that didn't clump, smudge, or flake.

I decided to try the Physicians Formula Organic Wear Mascara on my right eyelashes, and the Covergirl Lashexact on my left ones.

I applied one coat of the Physician Formula first, and my lashes turned from brown to black, they became slightly longer, and thicker. I did the same with the Covergirl, and they became longer, but no thicker.

The directions are:

"Sweep mascara brush from lash base to tips. Apply multiple coats for added volume. Can easily be washed off with soap and water."

I applied a second, and third coat to both eyes. My right eye lashes were amazing. The Organic Wear Mascara had really lengthened my lashes, and filled in between them. The bottom lashes are normally so tiny, that mascara ends up under them, and I get smudges. This didn't happen. I have the best bottom lashes ever. They are long, and have volume.

The left lashes look as if an amateur has applied the mascara. Covergirl has made them black, longer, clumping together, so they look like spider lashes. The bottom ones smudged onto my skin, and just look like a black mess. I had thought Covergirl lashexact to be a good lengthening mascara, but now I have to change my mind on that.

I tried rubbing my eyes/eyelashes, and the Organic Wear lashes were soft, and didn't smudge at all. The Covergirl ones were hard, and when I rubbed them, they smudged.

This is the first time I have done a test on 2 beauty products, asked my husband what he thinks, and he actually noticed a difference.

I have paid considerably more money for Lancome mascara, which is an excellent product, but still didn't perform as well as this one.

I didn't want to take it off at nighttime, but reluctantly did. The first night I tried soap, and water, and my lashes went back to be tiny. I also tried taking it off with several of my makeup removers. All worked well with the Organic Wear Mascara.

I have worn it when dancing. On those nights I can do lots of fast dancing, and my mascara stayed perfect.

On the back of the box it has a comparison chart, which says that normal mascaras can cause dry brittle lashes, can cause lash clumping and build up on brush, and can cause eye irritation. Whereas Organic Wear has organic orange water to hydrate and moisturize. It has 100% natural origin biopolymers to give clump-free lashes.

I can't praise this mascara enough, it is also ophthalmologist approved, hypoallergenic, and fragrance free.

If you want a gentle, organic, safe mascara, that really works for you, then you just have to try the 100% Natural Origin Organic Wear Mascara. It is worth every penny.

I never wear mascara because it's clumpy and makes my lashes hit my glasses and leave black marks- and it hurts my eyes. But THIS mascara I want to try!!! I love Physician's Formula!!! So happy they have this mascara, I will add it to my "special occasion" makeup collection :)

I wonder if it is available here. I just bought Revlon mascara yesterday - it's okay but nothing wonderful. I'll do some checking for this. rcj

If I decide to wear make-up again, I will definitely try this. Mascara is the reason I quit wearing it.
