2 Encouraging Letters Written to a Teen Girl

Hoping to Encourage Her to Continue on with Christ

Jared Moore
When I was a youth pastor I would write letters to youth that had missed several weeks of church, hoping to encourage them to come back and be faithful. Here are two examples of these letters.

[Girl's Name],

Howdy. How is life going for you? Life is going great here. I just wanted to write you and let you know that I prayed for you today. I prayed that you would grow closer to God daily and that He would keep you away from evil. As you grow up, you will have to decide daily whether or not you're gonna live for Christ. I want to encourage you to consistently serve the One who gives you the life that you live. Please always know that everything in this world, when compared to Christ, is grasping for the air. Nothing can fulfill you or supply your needs like a relationship with Jesus Christ. As each day passes, may you serve the King of kings and Lord of lords. I love you, and if you ever need anything, my door is always open. Be good.

[Girl's Name],

Hello. It's been a while since I've seen you. I just wanted to write you again to let you know that I prayed for you today. I prayed that God would put godly friends in your life that would always point you to Christ, and that you would be a godly example for people to follow. Is there anything else on this earth worth living for other than Jesus Christ? The answer, of course, is no. The question is, do we live our lives this way? Do we live our lives like Jesus Christ is the only One worth living for? I want to challenge you to do this, to seek only to please Him. As you continually grow closer to Jesus, may you realize how much more you need to give Him. I love you in Christ, and if you ever need anything, please contact me. Be good.

In Him,
