2 Great Tips for Correcting Your Golf Slice

Rocky Hills
Are you completely frustrated by your golf slice? Is there anything more mind boggling than to practice your golf swing time and time again only to find out that when you are back on the course you are still slicing the ball? Do you need to have your slice corrected and fast? Well, here are some tips to correcting that pesky golf slice.

First of all, you need to relax. Yes, it's a pain. Yes, it's hard to do but you won't improve by approaching this with a negative mind set. Golf is a mind game. If you want to improve your game remember that it is only a game. Your life will not be forever changed by messing up your golf swing.

Well, that is of course, unless you are a professional and this shot is worth a million bucks. But that is not the place most of us are. You have got to calm yourself when you swing for the ball.

Now that you are calm take a moment and think about your swing. Close your eyes and imagine a perfect swing and see yourself hitting the ball and it is going straight. If you can do that then you have a chance to improve your swing in real life.

One thing that is very important is to remove the golf slice from your game as quickly as you can. Our muscles and mind tend to follow a certain pattern that we feel comfortable doing. So you must correct that swing as soon as possible. Although there are many books and aids, some of which are wonderful it is still best to get a real life experience.

The best way to get that real life experience is to see the club pro at a driving range. Let them teach you the best way to improve your swing. The reason it is suggested that you go to the golf range is because as soon as you do see an improvement then you need to keep practicing until your muscles and mind get comfortable with this swing.

There is a story that goes like this someone once said to the great golfer Gary Player that they wished that they could play as well as he did. His reply was that they could if they did what he did. And that was to practice until his hands got bloody. Then practice some more.

It is not recommended that you practice until your hands get bloody but you do need to practice. You can not play golf once or twice a week and think that your game will improve automatically. Practicing the correct swing is the key to getting rid of your golf slice.

So if you want to improve your golf game and hit the golf ball straighter then you must remain calm. You must have a pro help you with your swing. And finally, you must practice a lot.
