2 Million Dogs Foundation Promotes Canine and Human Cancer Research

Cancer is a disease that afflicts both canines and humans. 2 Million Dog Foundation, a 501c3 corporation, promotes canine and human cancer research by uncovering similarities in cancers diagnosed in both species.

2 Million Dogs Foundation began in 2008 by Luke Robinson, when his Great Pyrenees, Malcolm, passed away due to cancer. Motivated by his loss, Robinson and his two other dogs, Hudson and Murphy, began a 2,000 mile walk from Austin, Texas to Boston, Massachusetts. Along the way they stopped in hundreds of cities and towns, teaching people about canine and human cancer and beginning a grassroots movement throughout the country.

2 Million Dogs Foundation continued to grow and educate the country about the connections between canine and human cancer, inspiring hundreds to become more involved. Through their development of this new method of research and their funding of cancer studies, they remain dedicated to finding cures for both canine and human cancer.

Robinson and his dogs have continued to inspire dog owners throughout the country. In recent years hundreds of dogs and their owners have joined them in their 2,000 mile walk. In addition 2 Million Dogs Foundation has sponsored addition walks throughout the country called Puppy Up! Walks.

On November 6th, 2 Million Dogs Foundation has scheduled a Puppy Up! Walk to be held at Pinckneyville Park in Metro Atlanta. This promises to be a fun event for dogs and their owners alike.
