2 Photo Types of Studio Lighting Options

Cэвбо
I am going to list for you two types of studio lighting solutions for your photography hobby. Most importantly, you need a relatively large space in your home. Unless of course you only plan to do outdoor shoots so you only need a closet or small room to store your lighting equipment. In fact studio lighting equipment nowadays is so versatile that you can leave them in the car, unpack & reinstall them at the photo shoot location. Although fixing up the soft boxes is a pain in the arms so you may want to leave them open after the first installation.

Without further a due. The first option is to purchase a 5000k Spiderlight continous fluorescent soft box, stand, & 2 in gold reflector. Mind you, professional continuous lighting equipment is pricier than flash mono-lights. Anyway, the optimal basic setup that you would want for your photography studio is as listed below:

a) 1 unit 15 bulb spider lights (sufficiently large so you may not need top lighting)
b) 1 unit 5 bulb spider lights (about $290 per unit)
c) 2 in gold reflector
d) 1 unit background stand (about $100)
e) 3m X 10m velvet paper background

The second option is to purchase a 3 piece mono-light kit set like in the Best Buy 200 watt 3 Flash Light Studio Setup in Malaysia blog post. Alternatively, you could buy a few of the Affordable & Versatile Mono-light Calumet Genesis 200 which provide the same 200 watt power each. The mono-light give out about 5500k so it's similar to natural sun light. The optimal basic setup that you would want for your photography studio is as listed below:

a) 3 flash mono-light with two soft boxes & one barn door (about $455)
b) Boom stand for top lighting
c) Peel able umbrella
d) 1 unit background stand (about $100)
e) 3m X 10m velvet paper background

Some people like the continuous lighting option because of you can directly see on the set how the photo will look like while some people like to have more control over their lighting, hence the dials & switches behind the flash mono-lights. Video enthusiasts usually use continuous lights while the usual photographers prefer the flash mono-lights. Another thing is that continuous lighting is cooler for you & your model because of the fluorescent bulbs. You will perspire easily under hot halogen bulbs in the flash mono-lights. Whichever your choice, you will surely have plenty of fun creating your photo compositions. Happy photographing!
