Rachael Sage and Chris Letcher

Yvonne M. Glasgow, Ph.D.

Rachael Sage
Chandelier

This is Rachael's 8th CD and if it's anything like the others (which I haven't heard) I feel sorry for her. I really wanted to like this CD- a pretty girl singing alt-pop to a great beat- how can you go wrong? I'll tell you how- the lyrics.

Her voice is like that of an angel but what she sings about makes no sense or is just plain silly. And yes, I know there are bands, like Nirvana and Presidents of the United States if America, that have proved you don't need to have good lyrics or make any sense to hit the top of the charts, but we won't be seeing this siren high on the charts.

If you love a great voice and a great face, but don't care if the lyrics are ridiculous, then this is a CD you'll want to hear. Rachael has shared the stage with famous musical women like Sheryl Crow, Liz Phair, Ani DiFranco, so there's something there. So why not check her out for yourself!

Chris Letcher
Harmonium

After reviewing my last Chris Letcher CD, Frieze, I became an instant fan of his Rush/Bowie/Modern Space-rock sound and my love remains with this new EP, Harmonium. My only complaint is that 7 songs just weren't enough.

Chris is a South African Singer-Songwriter whose musical skills surpass the fact that not everyone knows his name, as they should.

His words tell a story and his sound is music to your ears. Enjoy Harmonium, I Was Awake, Scenes, Parker, Wait, Milk and Architect- the 7 songs begging for your attention on Chris Letcher's new EP.
