2 Ways to Create Storage Space in Your Small Bathroom
Hanging Baskets
Purchase lightweight wire baskets, in silver or white and hang them in your bathroom for extra storage. These baskets may be used in spaces where floor space has already been maximized, and drawer organizers or shelving are not viable options. The space near a sink, for example, if the sink is crowded between two walls is a good spot.
How to Hang the Baskets to Create Storage Space
You can use a large screw hook or two and attach it to the ceiling. Purchase a cheap wire basket with three baskets of increasing sizes from the local dollar or discount store. The baskets may be intended for use in a kitchen, for fruit, but that does mean you can't use them in your small bathroom.
Match with Spray Paint
The baskets are often white but can be painted with metallic spray paint to match your decor. Try using a color similar to your bathroom wall color, if you want the basket to blend in with the bathroom decor. Use the hanging baskets for guest towels or face cloths, extra toothbrushes for guests, paper drinking cups, Q-tips, cotton balls, dental flossers, or any other lightweight item.
No-Sew Pedestal Sink Skirt
If you have a a pedestal sink and would rather have the storage than the look of a wide open space, use the otherwise wasted space. Purchase stacking bins to store extra toilet paper rolls, sanitary napkins or tampons, cleaning products (unless there are children or pets in the home), hairdryers and flat irons, and any other personal care product you need to tame in the bathroom.
How to Attach to the Sink: Curtain Hooks and Clips
Attach a set of adhesive cord clips, typically used to organize thin wires for electronics, to the underside of the sink. Repurpose three pillowcases, which match your bathroom decor. One is for the front and the other two are for the sides. You may need to resize them slightly, depending on the size of the sink. Slip a curtain ring through the cord clip. Attach the curtain ring clips to the tops of the pillowcases hanging them up.
Attach with Curtain Wire
If you need to access the storage area frequently, consider threading some wire, intended for curtains, through the tops of the pillow cases, under the fold (after cutting small slits). You will be able to push the fabric along the wire, and out of your way. Use wider spacing with the cord clips in the front of the sink for easier access.

These are great ideas. I'll be trying the hanging baskets. Thanks for sharing.
Yes, the Velcro would work as well, I guess I just like the look of the curtain hook rings. :-)
Good tips, Pam. I would think hook and loop tape (Velcro) would work to attach a skirt to the sink as well.
You're very handy. Neat ideas indeed!
Neat ideas thank you.
I would have thought that attaching the skirt with velcro would be the easiest.
Great ideas! We stuck an antique-looking CD cabinet in the powder room. It's perfect for holding extra rolls, square tissue boxes and other small essentials.
