Ann Siper
Tires are a fun way to create a cool car theme or industrial theme in a child's bedroom. You can use or recycled tires from the local auto shop to make most of these fun indoor tire decorations and furniture projects.

Let the kids help make these fun pieces of furniture and decorations made from tires from their own room

Car Tire Children's Furniture #1: Easy Headboard

You can use a few rows of tires hung on the wall above your child's bed and they make the coolest headboard! Have a little fun with this car inspired headboard. Have you child help you paint each tire out in a primary color.

This will be much more appealing then a dingy natural gray that tires are. You can also pain them lack for a fresh look. Spray paint will go on the smoothest.

To hang, drill a hole in the side of each tire. Slip a screw through and drilled into studs in the wall.

Car Tire Children's Furniture #2: Car Tire Chair

To make a chair from tires you will need 3 large car tires. Truck tires will work the best. Now, stack two of them together You will want to run a thick bead of epoxy glue along the top ring and then set the second one on top.

Now, take the thrived tire and cut it in half so you now have two u shaped halves. One of these U's will be the back of the tire chair.

Now, you need to set this on the back of the tire seat. Mark where it rests. Punch four holes, two on either side of the part of tire that touches the flat tire. Repeat on the right side or other side.

Now, in the two ends of the U shaped piece you need to punch out 2 matching holes.

Use a nice thick jute twine to tie the back piece onto the seat. You can also use yellow nylon rope; this will mimic sort of the yellow lines found on the road!

Tip: You can use the remainder of the tire to make arms for the chair in t same manner.

If you use epoxy to hold the back of the tire chair on chances are your child will simply rip it off down th road, so stick with th eating or rope!

You will also need to fill in the seat part or the opening in the middle of the tires. You can do this with pillows. Add a board in between the tiers for more support.
