The first thing you need to do is watch what you eat. Decrease the amount of fat and sugar that you take in, while increasing the amount of fruits and other healthy vegetables. Make sure you exercise as well as do a lot of cardiovascular exercise.
2. Find someone to lose weight with
Having someone to help you while you're losing weight is much easier than doing it alone. A friend who can help you on your journey to losing weight will make sure that you both reinforce each other in your journey.
3. Weight training
Make sure that you also do weight training while you are trying to lose weight, as it will increase your metabolism, burn calories, and probably make you look a lot leaner.
4. Cut down your carbohydrate intake
Rice, bread, pasta, and other carbohydrates are one of the main reasons that people gain weight. By cutting down on these you will make sure that you lose weight.
5. Make goals
Studies show that people who make goals are more likely to achieve them than people who do not. Writing your goals down will allow you to be held accountable and pursue said goals.
6. Stop drinking pop
Much like beer, pop is just a form of empty calories that will only add to the struggle of losing weight. Instead drink fruit juice or water.
7. Boil your food instead of frying it
Instead of frying your food, if you boil it and season it afterwards you will see a big difference in your calorie intake.
8. Avoid junk food.
Junkfood is one of the major sources of empty calories and hence should be avoided at all costs.
9. Eat a big breakfast
If you consume the majority of your food early in the day you will burn most of it because you are active throughout the day. If you eat a late dinner instead, most of these calories will be stored as fat.
10. Treat yourself once in a while
By depriving yourself of junk food you will want to eat it more. Once in awhile you should allow yourself to have a small amount of junk food so you don't feel that you need it that much.
11. Eat smaller portions
By eating smaller portions more often in the day, you will see a big difference in the rate of your metabolism and your weight loss.
12. Drink plenty of fluids
By drinking a lot of water, and other fruit juices, you will allow yourself to feel full without actually needing that much to eat.
13. Don't eat everything that's in front of you
If you see yourself at a buffet, that does not mean you need to eat everything that is there.
14. Eat mini meals
If you eat often, but in small portions, you will not feel hungry and lose weight.
15. Exercise regularly
A diet can only get you so far in your weight loss, exercise is the other half of the equation.
16. Avoid Hollywood Diets
Fad diets such as the Atkins diet, never work in the long term. They only keep the weight off for a small amount of time, while the weight will eventually return.
17. Workout more than once a day
Try to incorporate working out into all aspects of your life.
18. Control the amount of food you intake
If you decide to have any type of food make sure to measure it and control exactly what you are eat.
19. Always have healthy snacks lying around
If you have healthy snacks lying around you will be less tempted to eat junk food.
20. Create a healthy routine
By following the above steps you will have created a routine that if you follow day in day out, you will lose a lot of weight.
