Tip #1 - Don't turn your computer on until you have done your chores for the day. How many times have you gotten online quickly to check your email only to find yourself still sitting at the computer 2 hours later?.
Tip #2 - Cook two meals at a time, eat one and freeze the other. It's no harder to cook a double batch than a single batch and you will feel so good knowing there is always something in the freezer for the days that just don't go to plan.
Tip #3 - Do a load of washing in the evening so it can be hung out early in the morning. This is especially good in winter when the sunlight hours are shorter and you need to take advantage of as much sunlight as possible.
Tip #4 - Get the children involved in chores by making it into a game. Have a race to see who can pick up the most toys in 1 minute.
Tip #5 - Keep a shopping list on the fridge and try to only go to the store once a week.
Tip #6 - Don't be too fussy. Your home doesn't need to look like a magazine picture for your family to be happy.
Tip #7 - Play your favourite music or listen to a podcast while you are doing your housework.
Tip #8 - Write a to-do list. Add to it when you think of something that needs doing and check it off once you have completed a task.
Tip #9 - Clean your bathroom sink while you are cleaning your teeth. Grab a face washer and wipe down the bench and bath, you'll be done before you have even finished brushing.
Tip #10 - Write all important dates on the calender. Write everything from birthdays to kids library days. Don't forget to check your calender each night so you know what is happening tomorrow.
Tip #11 - Clean the main living areas first. Your kitchen, lounge, dining room, bathroom and toilet should be the first rooms you clean, you can always shut the bedroom doors and clean them later.
Tip #12 - Teach your children to put things away when they have finished with them.
Tip #13 - Learn to say NO. Don't over commit yourself.
Tip #14 - Get the children to help you fold and put away the washing.
Tip #15 - Clean the shower while you are having a shower.
Tip #16 - Make the children responsible for their own bedrooms.
Tip #17 - Limit your childrens clothes. They don't need 20 outfits and you certainly don't need to be washing those 20 outfits.
Tip #18 - Make school lunches while you are in the kitchen preparing dinner.
Tip #19 - Teach your children to use the vacuum cleaner. What kid doesn't like to play with the vacuum???
Tip #20 - Ask for help when you need it, don't try to be a super mum because you will end up being a stressed and frazzled mum.
