The 200 dead cows in Wisconsin were loaded into dump trucks and they were disposed of in an undisclosed location. The "Dead Cows in Wisconsin" mystery has been solved today, as authorities release the cause of death for the cattle.

The 200 dead cows died from acute interstitial pneumonia, according to Channel 7 News in Wisconsin. The preliminary test results are in on the dead cattle and this is what is believed to be the culprit. Samples taken from the dead cows were sent to Madison for more testing for further validation.

The steers began to die early last week, with the last of the 200 dying on Friday, according to the veterinarian who attended the cows. The animals died 12 hours after the first signs of symptoms. The cows did not respond to treatment.

The 200 dead cows were found in the farmer's field, which is located on 4th Street in Amherst in the state of Wisconsin.

No quarantine was established for the cattle at any time. The Portage County Humane Society are investigating the cattle deaths.

This news takes some of the "mystery" out of the dead cow story. It was confusing last week when officials said that although they did not know how the cows died, they did know what killed the cows was not a danger to humans or other animals.

If they did not know how the cows died, how could they possibly know that the death of the cows posed no risk? These contradicting reports were part of the mystery last week.
