2000 Trio

Angie Grey
Do not be sad -
For life is beautiful.
Life can be yours
With alacrity
If you want it to be.

This is a garden
Or perhaps a zoo -
To wander about
While wondering
the here and now.

I have tried to be me.
Why do you want me to be just like you?
I am not you.
I want to be me.
You want to be me.
This cannot be.
Just go along with your life -
Let me be me.
You have already taken my identity
Away from me.
Now I am just a part of
The fantasy of history.
I will let you do the part of you.
It is another perfect tragedy
Within this world of misery
Please just let me be.
I do not want to be you.
Nor do you want to be me.

I could be dreaming of this life
This is a lonely orb we roam
A pretty world, this bluegreen marble.
Although you see, we have life
With crystal globe clarity.

You work into the chain of actions
You - a storehouse of deduction
Your life is a story of being
Almost there, yet light years away
From a hope in your city of tomorrow.

Every velocity of every rational mind
Seems to converge into flowcharts
Although you compose yourself
Sadly into spirals of self-blame
Diverging sadly from your own dreams.

At least you find comfort in the world
Where material things can be possessed
Your short term happiness is a blessing
For of tomorrow we cannot be sure
So, just keep going along the highway.

Another wonderful piece. There is something so engaging about your pieces, not sure what I find compelling but I am thoroughly engaged by your work.
