2007 Dumbest Celebrities Alternate List

The New York Daily News just released their list of the dumbest celebrities in 2007. What's striking isn't just who's on the list, but who isn't and really, really should be. While all of the people on the list may indeed be dumb, it seems that there have been a few glaring omissions and at least one questionable honoree. I would like to propose a reworking of the top 5. As it stands the New York News' top 5 are:

1. Lindsay Lohan- poor movie choices ("I Know Who Killed Me"), delinquent behavior and bad taste in men.

2. Kim Kardashian - because it is sad when you leak your sex tape and nobody cares.

3. Spencer Pratt - who thinks his life on MTV's "The Hills" is reality - and believes we think so, too.

4. Jeff Kwatinetz - the man that gave the okay for Britney Spears' disastrous MTV Video Music Awards performance.

5. Shia LaBeouf - the 21 year-old "Transformers" star, for getting arrested while refusing to leave a Walgreen's pharmacy.

While all of the celebrities listed did do dumb things in 2007, they hardly seem dumber than a few dumb celebrities who didn't make the list at all. Here is a proposal for a new top 5 dumbest celebrities of 2007 list:

1. Sherri Shepherd- No list of celebrity dumbness that doesn't include her should be taken seriously. The View star, Shepherd, became a YouTube star this year when video of her telling Whoopie Goldberg she didn't know whether the world was flat or round was passed about the web. More recently she expressed the opinion on national television that she didn't think that there was ever a time in human history when there weren't Christians. (link provided)

2. Don Imus- Calling the Rutgers women's basketball team "nappy headed hos" had to be one of the dumbest celebrity blunders in recent memory. How does anyone not know that making a racial slur on the radio is going to come around and bite you on the tail? Somehow he didn't make the list, though.

3. Paris Hilton- How can you make a list of dumb celebrities and not put her on it? And in a year that saw her do jail time for driving without a license multiple times, no less.

4. Kelly Pickler- Again, YouTube, which is becoming the bane of dumb celebrities everywhere. Kelly asks, "Is Europe a country?" then, "Is France a country?" She then declares "I don't think France is a country." (link provided)

5. Larry Craig- Bathroom shenanigans are hell on a political career. First Craig tried to pick up an undercover officer in an airport restroom. Now he has guys coming out of the woodwork to confirm that they have had trysts with Craig. They're called public restrooms for a reason.

Those are my suggestions for the top five dumbest celebrities. Not only have they demonstrated high levels of dumb, but they are all more famous than some of the less known people on the list, J.R. Rotem, Rumer Willis and Cash Warren for instance.

Also debatable is the order. I mean, how does Lindsay top Britney? There is literally no part of her life Britney isn't in the process of destroying. Surely she should make a much higher appearance than number fourteen. And as far as K-Fed goes: he's done pretty well for himself hasn't he?
