Austin - Christmas at the Carillon, located at 2203 San Antonio Street, at the University Presbyterian Church. Starts at 8:00 pm at Dec.8th. Special guest star Cynthia Clawson. Cost per person will be $40.00.
Houston -Gullah Christmas Wonderweek, located at 1500 Binz, at the Children's Museum of Houston. Holiday event begins on Dec.20th - Dec.22nd. Visitors can experience Gullah everyday practices that include rice cooking, storytelling, crafting wreaths with Saw Palmettos. Holiday songs will be sung by the Houston Ebony Opera. Dickinson - Rotary Club of Dickinson Annual Christmas Parade, will begin from I-45 Freeway at FM 517 and travel East to Highway 3. This holiday event will be on Dec.13th, between 6pm-8pm. Those who would like to participate can by paying a $20 float fee. For this years parade, the theme will be Cowboy Christmas.Funds that are collected help the Rotary Scholarships as well as other Rotary Community gifts. Abilene - Single Shooter Society Cowboy Christmas Shootout, located at 4567 E Lake Rd, will begin it's 1800's holiday event on Dec.14th-Dec.16th. Visitors from all over will enjoy traveling back in time as people are dressed in the Old West style this holiday season. Kerville - Christmas Concert Presented by Hill Country Youth Orchestra, located at 910 Main Street at the Kathleen C.Cailoux Theater. This holiday event will be held on Dec.9th at 3 pm. This holiday event will include amazing holiday music performances by the youth orchestra that will include traditional holiday music as well as classical music. Ingleside - Enchanted Forest Renaissance Fair, located at 1874 Port Avenue, will begin on Dec.8th - Dec.9th, between 10:00 am - 5 pm. Kids and adults of all ages will enjoy this holiday event that replicates the 15th and 17th century. With homemade crafts, folklore, dancing and holiday music, this is one holiday event you and your family do not want to miss. Cost is between $3.00 - $5.00, depending on age. Good to know. I live in New York, but my fiance's family lives in Texas, so we visit often. I will be sure to try some of these places :-)
