Ring in the New Year at Aigre Doux with a five-course dinner. Executive chef Mohammad Islam starts the meal with an amuse-bouche. Guests then have a first course choice of White Asparagus with winter truffle, poached egg, fine herb, Roasted Artichoke Soup with poached shrimp or Braised Oxtail Ravioli with California morel, roasted tomato vinaigrette. Enjoy a second course Organic Mixed Green Salad with pistachio crusted goat cheese. Choose between the Prime Rib with twice-baked truffled potato and creamed spinach, Wild Dover Sole with parsnip puree, sauteed asparagus and ginger emulsion, or Diver Scallops with cider-braised Tuscan kale and saffron risotto for the main course entrée. For dessert, executive pastry chef, Malika Ameen offers the choice between her signature Sticky Toffee Pudding with organic khadrawy, mascarpone sorbet and candied kumquats or Melting Chocolate Tart with a malted milk shooter, cocoa nib tuile and braised sour cherries. The first seating is at 6:30 p.m. at $85 per person, and the second seating begins at 9 p.m. at $125 per person. Enjoy Christmas Day dinner at Birch River Grill-An American Kitchen with a three-course plated meal. Begin the holiday evening with a complimentary Champagne Cocktail. Birch River Grill will serve their regular breakfast menu 6 a.m. to 11 a.m. and regular lunch menu 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Christmas Day. Birch River Grill is open normal hours on Christmas Eve.

This New Year's Eve, Birch River Grill is offering several dinner specials in addition to their regular menu. Enjoy specials like the Rock Shrimp Bisque with cucumber and lime zest garni ($8); Herb Crusted Loin Tuna with wilted savoy cabbage and meyer lemon vinaigrette ($13); Surf & Turf of filet mignon with horseradish cream, sweet potato crush, hazelnut butter Brussels sprouts and sea scallops with black beluga lentils, blood orange cream and mache with citrus ($45). For dessert, the special is the Chocolate Trilogy with white, milk and dark chocolate mousse topped with mango and cherry drizzle ($9). Birch River Grill will serve its regular lunch menu on New Year's Eve 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The dinner specials are available starting at 5 p.m.

Celebrate the holiday with a meal at Dine, known in Chicago for serving America's favorite comfort dishes with a contemporary feel. Dine is offering a special Christmas Day dinner with a Winter Green Salad of roasted almonds, tangerine and pomegranate molasses vinaigrette, Roast Prime Rib of Beef with grilled asparagus, cabernet quince jus, pommes dauphinoise and Chocolate Peppermint Pot Pie with white chocolate ice cream. The price is $34.99 per person. In addition to the regular dinner menu, the special Christmas dinner is available 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Dine is open during normal business hours on both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

On New Year's Eve, beginning at 5 p.m., guests can order from the regular dinner menu or select the special dégustation tasting menu. From December 26 through January 1, Dunlays on the Square is adding brunch to the menu 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., making it one of the few restaurants in Logan's square to be serving patrons during the holiday season. Maijean is offering a prix fixe multi-course menu on New Year's Eve. At the 5 p.m. seating, guests will enjoy a three-course dinner for $65 per person. At the 7:30 p.m. seating, take pleasure in a four-course dinner for $80 per person. The newly opened Powerhouse Restaurant and Bar is open on Christmas Eve with its regular restaurant and bar menus available 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for lunch, and 5 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. for dinner. Powerhouse is open noon to 8 p.m. Christmas Day featuring a four-course meal. To start, enjoy Cannellini Bean Soup with baby carrots, kale and rosemary. Then choose from the Slow-Roasted Chicken Thigh with toasted faro, celery root, Swiss chard and thyme, Romaine Hearts Salad with Nueske's bacon, quail eggs, shallots and Alexander's garlic dressing or the Butternut Squash Risotto with La Quercia proscuitto, pecorino romano and sage-brown butter. From now until December 21, order Smoked Turkey and Homemade Stuffing from Chicago's famous barbeque place, The Smoke Daddy.
