2007 NBA Mock Draft First Round Recap

Wordsleuth
This is a recap of all 30 first round of my mock draft for the 2007 NBA Draft.

1. Portland Trailblazers - Greg Oden, 7'0" C Ohio State
Oden's size and skills make him impossible to pass up.

2. Seattle Supersonics - Kevin Durant, 6'10" SF Texas
If Oden is off the board Durant is the only pick for the Sonics.

3. Atlanta Hawks - Al Horford, 6'10" PF Florida
The Hawks love Horford and he could really help them out.

4. Memphis Grizzlies - Brandan Wright, 6'10" PF/SF North Carolina
Brandan Wright's skills make him special.

5. Boston Celtics - Jeff Green, 6'10" SF Georgetown
Celtics will play it safe and pick the player ready to play now.

6. Milwaukee Bucks - Corey Brewer, 6'8" SF Florida
Brewer's lanky body and great defending will be an asset to the Bucks

7. Minnesota Timberwolves - Spencer Hawes, 7'0" C Washington
Wolves love Hawes and his size.

8. Charlotte Bobcats - Joakim Noah, 6'11" PF/C Florida
Bobcats love drafting winners and Noah's size will be hard to pass up.

9. Chicago Bulls - Yi Jianlian, 7'0" SF/PF China
The Bulls won't let Yi get past them

10. Sacramento Kings - Mike Conley, Jr., 6'1" PG Ohio State
The Kings will grab their point guard of the future with the 10th pick.

11. Atlanta Hawks - Julian Wright, 6'9" SF Kansas
Hawks will grab a great perimeter shooter and defender to boost their outside game.

12. Philadelphia 76ers - Al Thornton, 6'7" SF/PF Florida State
76ers will take a chance on moving Thornton outside based on his skills.

13. New Orleans Hornets - Nick Young, 6'5" SG USC
Young and Paul could make one of the best 1-2 combos in the NBA.

14. Los Angeles Clippers - Acie Law IV, 6'4" PG Texas A&M
Clippers will look to solidify their PG position with Law.

15. Detroit Pistons - Rodney Stuckey, 6'5" SG Eastern Washington
Reports are the Pistons have guaranteed Stuckey will not pass them by.

16. Washington Wizards - Jason Smith, 7'0" C Colorado State
Wizards will get the big man they need in Smith at 16.

17. New Jersey Nets - Sean Williams, 6'10" PF/C Boston College
Nets wanted Hardin but will settle for Williams.

18. Golden State Warriors - Tiago Splitter, 7'0" PF Brazil
Splitter can play on the post but can also make the outside shot, essential for the Warriors offense.

19. Los Angeles Lakers - Javaris Crittenton, 6'5" PG Georgia Tech
Crittenton could be LA's point guard of the future and is hard to pass up at 19.

20. Miami Heat - Gabe Pruitt, 6'4" PG USC
Pruitt could be the replacement for Payton and Williams in Miami.

21. Philadelphia 76ers - Josh McRoberts, 6'10" PF Duke
McRoberts' defense will make him an asset to Philadelphia.

22. Charlotte Bobcats - Marco Belinelli, 6'6" SG Italy
Bobcats need outside shooting and Belinelli will bring it.

23. New York Knicks - Thaddeus Young, 6'8" SF Georgia Tech
Young could be the answer to the Knicks perimeter problems.

24. Phoenix Suns - Rudy Fernandez, 6'6" SG Spain
Suns could leave Fernandez in Spain for awhile.

25. Utah Jazz - Daquan Cook, 6'6" SG Ohio State
Cook could be a great shooter to pair next to Williams.

26. Houston Rockets - Derrick Byars, 6'7" SF Vanderbilt
Byars could replace the traded Juwan Howard.

27. Detroit Pistons - Kyrylo Fesenko, 7'1" C Ukraine
Project for the Pistons. They will leave Fesenko in Europe for a year or two.

28. San Antonio Spurs - Morris Almond, 6'6" SG Rice
Almond was one of the most talked about players in the draft and the Spurs will be lucky to get him at 28.

29. Phoenix Suns - Petteri Koponen, 6'4" PG Finland
One of the best point guards in the draft. The Suns could afford to let him get better in Europe.

30. Philadelphia 76ers - Glen Davis, 6'9" PF LSU
Many argue whether he will have an impact in the NBA but is worth a shot at 30.

The Celtics won't take a project and Green is the most ready to play in the NBA right now other than Horford, who they would prefer. I doubt the Celtics even pick at number 5 when all is said and done.

you show good knowledge of the players and teams but i doubt the celtics will take green at 5, seems too high for a guy who cant create his own shot and doesnt really stand out in any one category
