2008 Beijing Olympic Champion Michael Phelps Drinks New PureSport Sports Drink Developed by UT Austin Professor

The world watched with stomach butterflies on Saturday as Michael Phelps raced for his record-setting eighth gold medal at the 2008 Beijing Olympics. When the USA men's relay swim team won on Saturday, history was made for Michael Phelps as he passed Mark Spitz with seven gold medals and seven world records at one Olympic event. Congratulations to Michael Phelps for his historical Olympic performances at the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
We ask with amazement, how does any human being have that kind of superhuman endurance, strength, speed, and agility? NBC 2008 Beijing Olympics Sports Anchor Bob Costas asked Michael Phelps about his MP3 playlist since he always entered the Water Cube with earplugs in and music on. It turns out that music is not the only thing that gives Olympic champion Michael Phelps a performance boost.
Other than Michael Phelps, his Mother, and family, there is one other person who is thrilled about Michael Phelps superhuman 2008 Beijing Olympics performance: University of Texas (UT) Professor John Ivy in Austin, Texas. John Ivy created the new nutritional sports performance drink called PureSport for the University of Texas men's swim team as an alternative to the carb and sugar overload of Gatorade.
2008 Beijing Olympians like Michael Phelps, Nastia Liukin, Aaron Peirsol, Ian Crocker and Brendan Hansen all use the PureSport sports performance and recovery drink. Michael Phelps says, "PureSport Workout gives me the fuel I need to get the most out of the five hours a day I spend in the pool. After each workout, PureSport Recovery leaves me refreshed, revitalized and mentally alert." Scientific studies have shown that sports drinks can have performance boosting effects if the sports exercise lasts more than one hour. When John Ivy created PureSport, there were no sports drinks available that reduced muscle damage and enhanced muscle repair.
PureSport uses a patent-pending formula of carbs, whey protein, antioxidants, electrolytes and natural sugars to boost energy before a performance and help muscles recover after training or competition. Unlike Gatorade or other popular sports enhancing drinks, PureSport has a unique blend of both simple and complex carbohydrates mixed with whey proteins, amino acids, antioxidants, electrolytes and natural sugars that speeds the storage of muscle and liver glycogen for rapid muscle tissue repair. PureSport is gluten-free and caffeine-free, and comes in a powder form that is mixed with water.
PureSport has four flavors: Grape, Banana Berry, Lemon Lime and Fruit Punch. A one-month supply of both the PureSport Workout and PureSport Recovery costs about $99.00.
