2008 Best Chrismas Gift

Best Christmas Yet!

Bubba
The best Christmas surprise I ever gave was this year. We all now that giving is the Spirit of Christmas. The Queen Goddess has very few pictures of her Mom. Grandma Conley passed over in the 80s so no more pictures could be taken. The Queen Goddess has two daughters and because of the distance between them getting a group picture was near impossible. It also wouldn't be a surprise if every one knew what I was trying to accomplish. Y'all know how mothers and daughter share every secret they know.

My research began in 2006. I gathered pictures of these beautiful women. I only could find one of Grandma Conley but that was enough. I began to search for an artist to draw a five generation picture from photographs. I contacted my niece who is an Art teacher. She didn't do portrait work. I put a message on the board at out local Community College... No takers. One day last October I was surfing the E-bay web site and saw an offer for making a charcoal drawing from your photo. "Turn precious photos into heirloom pictures." If you are interested in this idea you can see a few examples @ http://www.grasshoppergifts.net/id1.html. Kim Martin of Grasshopper Gifts will work out all the details for you. The best part for me, I could do it all online. I also could use PayPal to pay the bill so I was safe in that area too.

The Picture finally arrived in a tube. It was beautiful. I took it to a little store (DaVinci's Gallery ) here in Fremont, Ohio. Da Vinci's Gallery not only does Museum Quality framing but deals in many fine art pieces...They make a great cup of coffee too. I'll admit I was shocked at the cost but my PayPal Master Card was available and just as the TV Comercial claims the results were Priceless. Y'all can view their web site @ http://www.davincisartandcoffee.com/ Amanda Burris was the Art Consultant that helped me choose the best frame and mat colors...Oh and she was kind enough to gift wrap for me too. I'm all thumbs like most guys.

Christmas morning finally arrived and my 2 year adventure was about to come to orgasm. The Queen Goddess gently tore a corner open and got a puzzled look....all she could see was more cardboard...finally she tore all the paper away and grabbed my knife to cut the cardboard away. The tears of joy gushed as if Niagara Falls had been re-invented in our front room. I have attached a copy of the "Five Generations of Beautiful Women" Left to Right are Cathlene (The Goddess eldest daughter), Grandma Conley (The Goddess' Mom), The Queen Goddess, Delayna (The Goddess youngest daughter), and in front is Lydia (The Goddess' Granddaughter)...Mizpah ;-}}>
