The Denver Broncos have the ability to surprise a lot of people this year. This team has some major playoff potential and have great NFL players on both sides of the ball. In this article, I will cover the Broncos offense.

First off, they are led by a superior NFL quarterback in Jay Cutler. Cutler, a third year quarterback out of Vanderbilt University, is developing nicely into an upper-tier NFL QB. His uncanny ability to make big plays and good decisions will keep the Broncos in games for many years to come.

Through the first few weeks of the season, Cutler has shown solid pocket presence and stays cool under pressure. He has quickly evolved into one of the best quarterbacks in the league. Out of the quarterbacks in his same draft class, he looks to be the most gifted of the three (Matt Leinart, Vince Young were the others).

The Denver Broncos running game is led by former Texas running back, Selvin Young. Young running backs Andre Hall (South Florida) and Ryan Torain (Arizona State) also are included , as well as veteran RB Michael Pittman.

Pittman has taken on the role of a full time goal line back, and he has flourished in the role. Hall, a fast runner, also contributes a great deal to the backfield, though he has lost carries in recent weeks. The real sleeper in this backfield should be Ryan Torain, a former Arizona State product who Mike Shanahan praised in the preseason.

From a fantasy perspective, the Broncos backfield is always a mess. Michael Pittman has proven early on to have plenty of value for fantasy owners, especially those who are in touchdown heavy leagues. Since the Broncos offense is so efficient, he should continue to get ample scoring opportunities to be worthy of a bench spot in a normal 12 team fantasy league.

The wide receivers and tight ends are yet another strength of the Bronco's offense. Top wide receiver Brandon Marshall (Central Florida), despite several problems with the law, is one of the league's best young wide receivers. 2008 draft pick Eddie Royal (Virginia Tech) was a quick breakout player, and Mike Shanahan also praised his work ethic and his incredible natural abilities in the preseason. Tony Schleffer is also another key cog in the offense: many refer to him as a poor-man's Antonio Gates.

All in all, the Bronco offense will continue to be one of the best in the league, and could contribute in a big way to them making the playoffs this year.
