The Detroit Auto Show is opening its doors to the media on Sunday January 13 to start the media frenzy over the new model and concept cars. The media hype helps to make the auto show a huge event. The Media will be previewing the auto show through January 15th.
Then on January 16th the doors will open for people in the auto industry. This will continue thru the 17th. Industry leaders and their contacts, suppliers and employees will be viewing the show and gloating over their work done on these new model cars.
Friday night is the big Black Tie Charity Event. Money is being raised for several charities in the Detroit Metro Area. There will be a special performance by the Barenaked Ladies at the event.
The excitement does not end with the media. On Saturday January 19th the doors open to the public. The moment you step through the doors it is so easy to get swept up in the excitement. There is music and shows going on continuously. You end up getting on a natural high with all the buzz going on.
On Friday the 25th of January is Racing Day at the auto show. Many of the top NASCAR, IndyCar and Stock Car leaders will be available for autographs. They will also have four racing simulators for the public to try out. NASCAR Sprint Cup Series is sponsoring the events.
You almost have to be there to experience it. We go almost every year. If glitz and glamour is your thing, with a dash of good times, you will not regret showing up for the Detroit Auto Show. Plan for at least one full day to spend at the auto show for there is a lot to see and do. Tickets will be sold at the door.
Check out how the automakers are going green while there. Green Cars will be a big push at the auto show. Many are boasting cross over cars and green cars. Supposedly exhaust fumes and roaring engines will be a thing of the past. We already own a flexfuel car but have only used regular gas in it so far.
The Detroit Auto Show I am sure will be a hit. It always is. The only thing that could dampen it would be the Michigan weather. If you live in Michigan anything is possible.
