The FJ Cruiser has a well-known and fatal defect relating to its body in that off road use can cause the metal to stress and crack. This means that the FJ Cruiser can become very unsafe when the chassis metal cracks! Toyota is well aware of it but per how they work they are trying to avoid a large recall. Be warned about the FJ Cruiser. Search google for "FJ Cruiser body cracks" for more.
