I have always been a fan of Ford vehicles, especially after they introduced their own line of hybrids, but last year I began looking at Lexus vehicles for the first time. As a city dweller, the parallel parking feature introduced last year was a definite head turner for me, but the green loving biologist in me kept me from seriously considering a Lexus.
With the introduction of the first luxury and V8 hybrid though , I started campaigning for the addition of a new Lexus LS600 to everyone in the family that was car shopping. I don't have a Lexus of my own--yet, but I have had the pleasure of driving or being driven around in one.
The Lexus LS600H starts out at a base price of $104,000 with three different package options and prices. As a hybrid, it outperforms other hybrid vehicles with the only Hybrid V8 engine out there. The green car enthusiast will definitely notice the difference in power once you are behind the wheel. Between the powerful engine and the speed sensitive steering, this is the smoothest drive among hybrids.
Several other features on the Lexus make it a great hybrid option, as well as just a better overall ride. The braking system, which makes it almost possible to stop on a dime, features regenerative braking. This means that my dad can no longer get on my case because of the way I drive, I'm creating energy and being green. The direct injection system makes it possible to get ten percent better gas mileage than other luxury cars. With all these features, the car's performance makes it a super low emission vehicle with fifty percent cleaner emissions.
As far as the available technology on the Lexus hybrid goes, sometimes I can't decide if I want to drive or ride along more. The sedan features a four zone control system, that can be customized and recorded for the driver and passengers. DVD entertainment systems, ipod stations, privacy screens, ventilated and heated seats, the list goes on and on.
The Lexus hybrid is currently my dream car, because of both its performance as a hybrid and the perks. Luxury car buyers should definitely take a look at this Lexus, even if they have never looked at the line before. It offers so much as far as luxury cars go. Green car enthusiasts who have an equal love for luxury cars now have the option of combining the two, it really is the entire package.
