Anthony Randolph is an eighteen year old, from Dallas, Texas and will be one of the many basketball players that will be part of the 2008 NBA Draft class. Anthony played his only year of college basketball for Louisiana State University. This past season playing for Louisiana State has helped Anthony Randolph lengthen his resume. In high school, he was recognized as one of the members of the All Area Dallas Morning News Boys Basketball Team. While, at LSU he was one of the Associated Press All SEC Honorable Mention players and was also recognized as part of the collegehoops.net Freshman All American Team. Most impressively is that this last season Anthony Randolph was named SEC Conference Freshman Player of the Week four times.

Anthony Randolph has highly impressive quickness and explosiveness, which are just two of his many strengths on the basketball court. He also left handed which has allowed him to develop his shooting skills with both him left and right hands. Anthony has the phenomenal ability to create shots with both hands. Additionally, for being six feet and eleven inches tall Anthony Randolph has unmatched ball handling skills.

He does have some weaknesses in his game that have been noticed by many fans, NBA coaches, and broadcasters. Anthony Randolph is kind of twiggy and lacks strength, which he can easily develop. He also is not a consistent three point shooter and struggles with shot selection. Anthony can also use improvement in his entire defensive game and needs to limit the number of turnovers he has on average per game.

There are many mock drafts that have been released by online news and sports site. All of the published mock drafts list Anthony Randolph as one of the top ten players to be drafted this year. NBC Sports believe that he will be picked as No. 9 and will be drafted by the Bobcats. While, collegehoopsnet.com has placed him slightly higher in their predictions at No. 7 and believe he will be going to the Clippers.
