2008 NBA Draft Preview: Danilo Gallinari

One of the few international players that will be being considered as part of the 2008 NBA Draft is Danilo Gallinari. Danilo is a native of Sant'Angelo Lodigiano, Italy and is currently playing for Armani Jeans Milano a professional basketball team on the international stage. He is a 6-9 power forward.

Danilo Gallinari, 19, does have some strikingly obvious flaws in his game. Danilo lacks explosiveness and quickness on the court. He also has horrible rebounding stats and will need to become a better rebound in order to be successful when playing in the NBA. Lastly, Danilo Gallinari is not a good three point shooter and does have a very limited shooting range. These weaknesses do have an affect on Danilo's overall game but he does have many impressive strengths and a great all around game.

He has many strengths that are highly impressive. Danilo is very mature on and off the court. His ability to play multiple positions is one of his abilities that have impressed NBA scouts. He also has unmatched ball handling skills with both hands and the ability to draw fouls. Lastly, Danilo Gallinari has a very strong and effective pull up jumper.

Many news and sports websites have released their 2008 Mock NBA Drafts. NBC Sports has predicted that Danilo Gallinari will be picked No. 12 in the first round of the 2008 NBA draft by the Kings. While, collegehoopsnet.com has listed Danilo as No. 8 in their mock draft and expect that he will be added to the roster of the Milwaukee Bucks. It is still not clear who Danilo Gallinari will be drafted by or when in the draft he will be chosen but is relatively for sure that Danilo will be picked in the first round of the draft.

I don't know who Becca M is, what I know is that he/she knows nothing about Danilo Gallinari, and has probably never seen him play (and maybe hasn't even checked his stats!). He's more of a small forward, he's not a horrible rebounder (5.6 rpg as a small forward) and he's a good/excellent 3 point shooter (40.5%).
