Darren Collison is a young man who has played his college basketball career for the University of California-Los Angles. Darren will be one of the many basketball players that will be considered as part of the 2008 NBA Draft. While, playing for UCLA Darren Collison has been an impressive player and has received many honors. Darren was named to the All Pac 10 First Team in 2007. In 2008, he was named to the All Pac 10 Second Team, the All Pac 10 Conference Tournament Most Valuable Player and the Associated Press Third All American Team.

There are several reasons that Darren Collison has gained the attention of those involved with the NBA Draft. He has a highly impressive three point shot percentage. Darren is a great defensive player, playing strong man on man defense and half court defense. His specialty is the pick and roll play. Additionally, he is very unselfish and does what ever it takes for his team to win.

Darren Collison could use some improvement in some areas of his game. He has a limited set of scoring tools. His lack of explosiveness and strength on the court has limited improvement in his game. Lastly, Darren struggles to finish at the rim. These flaws in Darren Collison's skills will need to be improved upon if he will be successful in the NBA.

Darren Collison is not expected to be drafted in the 2008 NBA Draft but is expected to be picked in the first round of the 2009 NBA Draft. Darren will still be able to play college basketball for UCLA during the 2008-2009 season because he will not be forfeiting his eligibility. Since, Darren has not hired an agent and does not plan to hire an agent Mr. Collison will be able to remain playing in the NCAA if not drafted into the NBA this year.
