Find Olympics TV Listings, Streaming Video and News

Sometimes a paper TV listing guide trumps a digital format, but not for the 2008 Olympics TV schedule. Given the 12-hour EST time difference, U.S. fans will want to customize their 2008 Olympics coverage options. After acclimating oneself to the 2008 Olympics TV schedule online, via the following instructions, you can also find viewing enhancements from Video on Demand (VOD) to HD.

Additionally, some video features require a software download --so it's best to plan your 2008 Olympics TV schedule in advance.

NBC 2008 Olympics TV schedule

First, visit the NBC Olympics website at NBCOlympics.com to locate Olympic coverage in your area. To access the 2008 Olympics TV schedule: Simply click on "TV and Online Listings," enter your zip code and select your TV provider - be it cable, dish or antenna.

While perusing the NBC website, proceed to the video category -- to supplement your 2008 Olympics TV schedule --- allowing you to view Olympic events your way. Here you can search Olympics coverage by sport, country, athlete, and type (from live competition to medal ceremonies). NBC plans live streaming that encompasses 25 events and 2200 hours as well as 3000 hours of video on demand, the latter largely comment-free, according to the LA Times.

Local 2008 Olympic Coverage

Click on Local Content and enter your e-mail address to receive Olympic news updates, if desired. Then, enter your zip code. When successful, three options should appear: Live Video, Olympic News from Your Hometown, and Olympic TV and Online Listings. The last option is the most useful for planning your 2008 Olympics TV schedule.

Planning Your 2008 Olympics TV Schedule

Within the Local Content section, the Online Listings option allows you to view the various network providers you have access to and a breakdown of the Olympic events. Best of all, Local Content provides an easy means with which to receive Olympic news alerts and plan your 2008 Olympics TV schedule -- available to print.

Additional 2008 Olympics Coverage Options

Inquire of your high-speed TV provider for HD, Video On Demand, Foreign Language, and other Olympic coverage options.

Along with the NBC Universal (NBCU) group of network providers (NBC, USA Network, MSNBC, CNBC, Oxygen, Telemundo and Universal HD), both Comcast and Charter Communications will provide broadcast services both online and off -- as noted in their respective press releases. Visit either charter.com or comcast.com/olympics -- or your own high-speed internet provider website -- for making the most of your 2008 Olympics TV schedule experience.

International YouTube Olympics Video Coverage

As for non-U.S residents or travelers looking for 2008 Olympics material, a modest amount of official Olympic videos will be available to several countries via YouTube -- but not the U.S.

YouTube, having reached an agreement with the International Olympic Committee, will work with the IOC to remove copyrighted material. The website address is youtube.com/beijing2008, with a comprehensive report provided by the Wall Street Journal.

2008 Olympics TV Schedule and Vista

Call it a bribe or marketing genius, but Microsoft Vista owners will be privy to special Olympics viewing options via tvtonic.com/olympics. Fans can download full length Olympic events automatically with personalized scheduling options -- ready to view on demand. A free download of Microsoft Silverlight is required.

New and Improved 2008 Olympics TV Schedule

Whether you only dabble in gymnastics, can't miss a breaststroke, must share your new HDTV during the games -- or plan to sleep regularly -- this years' 2008 Olympics TV schedule should better meet your needs.

While I'm not a fan of the Olympics, my parents were, and so I printed this off for them to refer to. Thanks!

Thanks for the info. The opening ceremonies were massive and fabulous. I hope that the games are just as interesting.

This is so true. I am going nuts trying to keep track of what's on when! And the TV listings are useless! I've even gotten wrong info on websites on dates and times. I have been to a couple of the sites you mention and they are very detailed, but sometimes hard to navigate.
