2008 Sasquatch Music Festival Worth Attending

Marli
The line up has been announced for the 2008 Sasquatch Music Festival and this year's bands are looking good. Some of my favorite bands booked to perform are Modest Mouse, Death Cab for Cutie, Flight of the Concords, Cold War Kids, Beirut, The Cure, The Hives, Tegan and Sara, and The Flaming Lips. But there are also tons of bands booked to play. Some of the other bands are R.E.M., Rodrigo Y Gabriela, The Breeders, Built To Spill, Ghostland Observatory, Blue Scholars, The National, and The Kooks.

For a full list of the line-up visit the Sasquatch Music Festival website, www.sasquatchmusicfestival.com. Now, for those of you who don't know what the Sasquatch Music Festival is here's a brief overview:

The Sasquatch Music Festival occurs every year on Memorial Day Weekend at Washington Gorge Amphitheater in George, Washington. I first heard about it from a friend who invited me to come along with her on a road trip and since "sasquatch" is one of my favorite words I figured that it must be kind of cool.

I was wrong. It was insanely cool.

It was nothing but people who are into awesome music congregating and having a fantastic time. If you ever have a chance to go- do it! You won't regret it, especially since tickets are so cheap. A discounted 3-day ticket is available for a limited time for only $150.50 and a 1-day ticket is only $55.50. That's definitely not a bad price. Children under 5 get in for free and parking is free.

There is also camping at the site so you can continue the party all night long. When I went, we all camped and we had a blast. We hung out with other campers and just stayed up talking all night long. The Sasquatch Music Festival will take place from May 24, 2008- May 26, 2008.

For those of you attending the Sasquatch Music Festival, remember that you can't bring in any alcohol, soda, video equipment, laser pointers, or professional cameras. For a full list of what is allowed at the music festival, visit the website. Attending the Sasquatch Film Festival is a great experience. Even the location is beautiful, so don't miss out on this year.

Tickets go on sale on Saturday, March 8, 2008 at noon and the special offer for the 3-day ticket at $150.50 ends Sunday, March 9 at midnight. But remember, there are no refunds for tickets and the line up is subject to change. There are some great bands attending so mark the calendar, hurry up and purchase those tickets, and gather up the crew for a great road trip up to Washington State. This is one festival you won't want to miss!
