St. Patrick's Day is a time for children all over America to celebrate by wearing green and hoping their friends don't pinch them. If they do get a pinch and happen to be wearing green, then they get to give them ten pinches back. It's great fun for little boys and girls chasing each other on their way to becoming adults. But there won't be any pinching as they become adults, and the celebrating will take on a whole new light and laughter.

If you can't be in Ireland to celebrate this happy event, the only place to go is the strip in Reno, Nevada. Everything changes for this one event of the year to become a memory for adults they shall never forget. It is non stop fun and everything green in the celebration of St. Paddy's favorite "Go Green" and let the good times roll.

As you drive down the main drag of Virginia Street you notice changes from the cities normal look and activities. Workman on ladders are everywhere preparing the arch proclaiming Reno as "The Biggest Little City In The World" for a light show not soon forgotten. With the placement of over 1600 tiny green bulbs and the official start the arch becomes a beacon in the night in a beautiful Irish emerald green. It is the call to arms and fun for Fitzgerald's Hotel and Casino on the strip.

The rest of the strip becomes alight in greens of every shade with revelers standing shoulder to shoulder celebrating together in song and drink. All the casino's hand out hats, beads and head bands of green to everyone walking by. You'll even be able to experience leprechauns and beasties with green hair and the lovely sound of an Irish lilt in drunken song everywhere.

But the Fitzgerald's is where you will want to be for entertainment. First of all it is the place to be for Irish celebration on this day of the emerald isles. For a penitence you can purchase as much green beer as you can hold. There will be bag pipers throughout the casino playing traditional songs of old. Later you will be able to enjoy a wonderful stage show of the Reno Irish Dance Co. It is 45 minutes of song, dance and beauty in traditional costumes. Also the Celtic youth chorus with a violinist and vocalist as young as five to the ages of past unknown will fill the night in song.

The evening brings the award presentation by the sons and daughters of Erin's "Irish Person Of The Year!" Upon the crowning in glory for the winner this organization also presents each high school in the counties of Washoe, Storey and Carson City with a scholarships of $300.00 each for students qualifying to further their education in whatever field they choose.

The fun isn't over yet because you'll want to take part in the Irish Whiskey Tasting contest and the wonderful Corned Beef and Cabbage meal served in one of the best dining establishments right at the casino called Limerick's. You won't find a better fare to fill your needs for a night of partying and looking for the gold at the end of your own rainbow. But as you find your way outside to continue the fun don't forget to kiss the blarney stone on the wall near the door.

Chapels will provide the charm of a traditional Celtic wedding with advanced notice or you can marry on the spot for a day to remember forever. Green beer is served in every casino on the strip and each will have it's own special charm in it's celebration of St. Patrick's Day. But none will compare to The Fitzgerald's.

Make your plans and reservations early by calling 775-785-3300 and get ready for one of the best parties you will ever remember. With the sound of bag pipes and the flow of green beer the fun never stops throughout the night. So grab your lassie or your laddie and hit the strip in your best green attire! Grab a bit 'o the gold for yourself.
