There will be many festivities, local events, and performances for visiting fans and locals to go to during Super Bowl XLII in Glendale/Phoenix, Arizona. There are various activities that would spark anyone's interest, but I will primarily focus on three of the biggest official host committee events. These events and festivities include: The Arizona Indian Festival, The Super Fiesta and The Scottsdale Super ArtWalk. According to the Official Arizona Super Bowl Host Committee Web site, they list all of the official events that will be held during Super Bowl XLII in Glendale/Phoenix, Arizona. Visitors to the website will be able to find any information including the times, dates, and locations. I found my dates, times, and locations at this site. Here are some of the most popular events and information :

The Arizona Indian Festival

The Arizona Indian Festival will take place from January 18-20, 2008 from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm each day. This festival will consist of Indian tribes and nations joining together to celebrate. The tribes and nations that will be attending will be made up of the 22 federally recognized tribes and nations located in Arizona. The festival is a cultural celebration. Visitors to this festival will be able to witness the different Indiana tribes and nations' cultures such as the native dances, foods, music, among others. Also, visitors will be able to shop and buy original and authentic pieces of Indian art, as well as crafts. This event is being hosted by the Arizona American Indian Tourism Association (AAITA). If you want to attend the festival you must buy a ticket. Tickets for adults cost 8 dollars, children (12-18 years old) will cost 5 dollars, and tickets for seniors (55 years and older) will cost 5 dollars.

The Super Fiesta

The Super Fiesta will take place on Saturday, January 26, 2008. It will start at 7:00 pm. The Super Fiesta is a celebration of Arizona's Hispanic heritage and culture, more importantly it is a celebration of the Hispanic heritage in general. This event is being hosted by a local radio station, Super Estrella 107 FM. The Super Fiesta is focusing a lot on Hispanic music. The event will have various Hispanic musical artists, including Alejandra Guzman. Also, there will many Hispanic food booths set up for visitors to enjoy. This event will be located at the Dodge Theater in Phoenix, AZ. If you love Hispanic music, or are curious to know more about it, then this event is perfect for you. This event is open to the public.

The Scottsdale Super ArtWalk

The Scottsdale Super ArtWalk will take place on the day before the Super Bowl on February 2, 2008. It will take place during 12:00 pm to 5:00 pm. It will be located in Scottsdale's Arts District. This event is well-known all over the world. This festival is spread out over numerous blocks in the city's arts district. There are numerous art galleries that visitors will be able to walk into and view the various pieces of art. New exhibits will be out and available for all visitors to observe. Also, if visitors are not too into art, they will also have the opportunity to listen to live music, sample food, and have a chance at winning fabulous prizes. This event should make all visitors happy, not only art lovers, but everyone. The best thing about this event is that it is FREE!

These events are only a small percentage of all of the events that will be taking place during Super Bowl XLII. There are so many things to do that you will stay busy all week long. Phoenix is a beautiful city and has a lot to offer; visitors will realize that when they attend these wonderful festivities, performances, and events.
