Land Cruiser Specifications
While test driving the 2008 Toyota Land Cruiser, you will notice that it has an excellent stopping capability. This is because it has large 13.4-inch front discs and 13.6-inch rear brake discs, giving this SUV a better stopping distance than the average sports utility vehicle.
Even though the Land Cruiser isn't your traditional "blue-collar" off-road vehicle, it can still hold its own when it comes to off-road efficiency. You will have the option of driving on 18-inch wheels with a full sized spare tire. Any off-roader will tell you that nothing can be more useful or vital to a true SUV than a full-sized spare tire.
It can tow 2.25 tons (that's 8,500 pounds) and has a 5.7-liter V8 engine. It also comes with a six-speed automatic transmission so that you can keep your eyes on the road. With a combination of the hill-start assist control and the automatic transmission, you'll rarely have to worry about the car rolling backward on an incline.
Inside the Seven-Passenger Land Cruiser
You'll discover four-zone climate control so that each passenger can have the preferred climate in their quarters of the car. Folding second row seats allow for storing extra cargo, luggage and more. It comes with an in-dash CD changer, 12 cupholders and a sunroof as well.
Choose the hands-free bluetooth option so you can talk on your cell phone without any hassle. Another excellent option is the back-up camera ability, which will allow you to see blind spots while you're in reverse. The navigation and towing package options are excellent investments as well. ABS and traction control come standard. For severe off-road use, the Kinetic Dynamic Suspension System will help with roll stiffness and wheel articulation.
The Toyota Land Cruiser offers both drivers and passengers incredible safety while on the road. With front row and second row air bags, everyone will be safe if an accident occurs. The greatest feature of the SUV is its 10 air bags, which include inflatable knee airbags for the driver and front passengers to prevent the "submarine" car collision effect that happens during frontal accidents. The curtain airbags provide protection throughout the car, which is a great feature for side impacts. The vehicle also has the ability to make the head restraints move forward in case there is a rear-end collision. Safety is highly important, and even though the SUV is expensive (MSRP $63,000), the value of life is priceless. Toyota Land Cruiser does its best to protect it.
Overall
The 2008 is a great car that's extraordinarily safe. There are cheaper alternatives and even better deals out there. However, if you buy a Land Cruiser, you will definitely be satisfied with your purchase, especially knowing that you and your passengers will always be protected.
