2008 Upper Deck Piece of History Hobby Box Review

Kaitlyn Joseph
In the Upper Deck Piece of History hobby boxes there are 16 packs per box and 8 cards per pack. Each box averages one memoribilia card, andone Hollywood memoribilia card. This is a review of one Piece of History box that I personally opened and was factory sealed when I bought it. For anyone who has not opened any Piece of History packs, there is a decoy card in the packs that do not contain a memoribilia card. You can find other uses for this extra cardboard or just throw it away. Here is the list of all of the star player (non-rookie) base cards that were in the box:

#7 John Smoltz

#8 Tom Glavine

#12 Nick Markakis

#14 David Ortiz

#98 Frank Thomas

These were the star playrs that I received base cards of. In total I received 55 regular base cards (not including rookies or historical moments). The set of regular player base cards is 100, so I had a little more than half of that. I also received 26 of the 50 rookie cards that are base, one of which was also a serial numbered card. There was 16 serial numbered cards (non- game used or autographs) in the box total. My hits (the cards that are valued the most) included: Frank Thomas jersey card, Brandon Jones rookie autograph, Quad jersey card (Ivan Rodriguez, Joe Mauer, Jorge Pasada, Jason Varitek), Felix Hernandez numbered jersey car, and a GI Jane Hollywood card (part of the jacket. This box contained more jersey cards than the average box.
