Availability, Pricing and Fee Information Realted to the 2008 Nationals' Season

When looking to purchase tickets for any Washington Nationals game, the best place to start is their homepage which contains information about scheduled games, venues and locations, seating charts, and ticket price information. Games are offered as full, half, and partial-season ticket packages, along with individual games for those that are interested in purchasing single Nationals home games.

Currently, the only way to purchase any individual Nationals' home game tickets is by visiting the nationals.com site or by calling 1-888-632-NATS (6287), as the on-site box office is not open yet. Individual game tickets start at $5 for Grandstand seats and range up to $325 for an individual game in the Presidential section. However, if purchasing any of the season ticket packages, games are discounted on a sliding scale based on the length of the season ticket package desired. All tickets can be purchased before game day, except for Grandstand seats, which much be purchased on a walk-up basis at the stadium's box office.

If purchased online, Washington Nationals tickets can be immediately printed out, thus ensuring that tickets will not get lost in the mail and will be delivered in time for game day. Should tickets need to be purchased on game day, the stadium opens its Center Field gate 2 ½ hours before game time during the regular season. However, if you are looking to purchase tickets and enjoy free parking at the same time, then the RFK Stadium lot offers the Nats Express shuttle starting 1 ½ hours before game time, and returning at the conclusion of the day's game.

When making a Washington Nationals ticket purchase, there will be a $5.75 convenience fee and $3.50 order processing fee. In addition, if tickets are to be immediately printed out there is an addition $1.75 e-ticket fee. Any tickets mailed or picked up at Will Call waive this $1.75 extra fee. Although not sold through Ticketmaster, as some other teams do, the fees charges by the Nationals may seem a bit high, but in reality are less expensive that some of the Spring Training games that I have purchased tickets for.

Finally, if interested in purchasing any tickets to the Nationals' games, time is of the essence. I can say from personal experience that I have been online waiting for the start of the ticket sales only to be disappointed when I can not even get a seat closer than the tenth or eleventh row. The Washington Nationals are no different, as their website already lists some of the sections sold out in the Field and Club Level seats. If in doubt, or in need or handicapped seating, be sure to call the Nationals' ticket hotline for further assistance.
