OPAS opens in September with the ever popular Joe Sears and Jaston Williams in "Tuna Does Vegas". Dates are Tuesday and Wednesday, September 23 & 24 in Rudder Auditorium at 7:00 pm. Make sure you get your tickets early because this show ALWAYS fills quickly!
In October there are several shows from which to choose starting with "Suessical - The Musical" which is only presented one day, Sunday, October 19 in Rudder Theatre at 2 pm and 4 pm. This will be a fun show for the younger crowd. The following day "Capitol Steps" shows at 7pm and 9:30pm in Rudder Theatre (Monday, October 20). "Sweeney Todd" will be the last show of the month on Tuesday and Wednesday, October 28 and 29, in Rudder Auditorium at 7:30 pm.
November opens with the Spaghetti Western Orchestra, Tuesday, November 11 in Rudder Theatre at 7:30 pm and finishes with one of the major events of their season, violin virtuoso Itzhak Perlman on November 23 in the Rudder Auditorium at 3 pm. You will definately want to get tickets early for this show.
Rockapella, The Holiday Concert, is set for Monday and Tuesday, December 1 and 2 in Rudder Auditorium at 7:30 pm and is sure to go quickly as it is the most requested return show by OPAS patrons.
In January the mesmerizing Cirque Dreams, Jungle Fantasy is showing Tuesday and Wednesday, the 27 and 28 in Rudder Auditorium at 7:30 pm.
The February lineup has several shows starting with "Altar Boyz", Wednesday, February 4 in Rudder Theatre at 7:30 pm, followed by "Ain't Misbehavin'" starring American Idol winner Ruben Studdard, Tuesday and Wednesday, February 10 and 11 in Rudder Auditorium at 7:30 pm. Last but not least, OPAS Junior presents "The Ant and the Elephant" Saturday, February 28 in Rudder Theatre at 2 and 4 pm.
March presents us with Andrea Marcovicci singing "I'll Be Seeing You...Love Songs of WWII", Thursday-Saturday, March 5-7 in the Oakwood Room of the College Station Hilton at 7:30 pm.
The last show in April is an old favorite, The Wizard of Oz, showing Monday, April 20 in Rudder Auditorium at 7:30 pm.
So here is your lineup for the 2008-2009 OPAS season at Texas A&M University. Hopefully there are several shows you might want to see or you may want to grab season tickets to see them all.
