The DePaul Blue Demons will meet up with the Providence Friars on Wednesday, March 11, 2009 in the 2009 Big East Tournament. DePaul is coming off a massive, massive upset of the Cincinnati Bearcats.

DePaul was winless in the Big East the entire season, and as a No. 16 seed in the Big East tournament, they were able to take out the No. 9 Big East seed. Will Walker and Dar Tucker led the Blue Demons with 17 points a piece. DePaul's offensive output was decent for them, posting a 49% field goal percentage.

Meanwhile, the Providence Friars have had a successful season themselves. They finished at a 10-8 in the tough Big East Conference, and they are currently on the NCAA Tournament bubble. The team is led by dynamic forward Weyinmi Efejuku. Sharaud Curry leads the team in assists, and is second on the team in scoring. Overall, the Friars are a talented team with two strong leaders in these players.

There is no doubt that this is a massive game for the Friars. They are led by a strong first-year coach in Keno Davis, but their performance in these Big East Conference games are crucial for consideration for the big dance. Expect the Friars to come out firing on all cylinders: I like Efejuku posting 25 points. Providence wins this one easily.

WINNER: Providence Friars
