If you are a true car enthusiast, attending new car shows gets you heart pounding. I have made a list of 4 car shows you simply cannot miss in 2009. This year you can expect more hybrid vehicles than ever before. There are many great new car shows all over the country, but these 4 are the best of the best.

1. North American International Auto show (NAIAS) at the Cobo Center in Detroit Michigan January 11 - 25 2009. The public show starts on January 17th. The NAIAS is the first auto show for 2009.

Toyota Will Debut new technology with a Battery Electric Vehicle Concept at 2009 North American International Auto Show. Toyota will also be debuting a brand new hybrid Prius. The Fisker Karma will also be debuting. The Fisher Karma is a magnificent plug in hybrid sports car. You can preview the car here

Tickets for the auto show are very reasonably priced at only $12.00 for a adult. Children ages 7 to 12 are $7.00.

The Cobo Center is located at One Washington Boulevard Detroit, MI 48226

The official website for the North American international Auto show is http://www.naias.com/home.aspx. You can also print tickets online at the official website.

If you are flying in for the NAIAS the closest airport is Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport.

2. 2009 Chicago Auto Show will be held February 11 - 22 at McCormick Place

The Chicago auto show is known as the largest in the country. Almost 1,000 vehicles will be on display this year. USA Today has reported that Nissan will be premiering some new vehicles at the Chicago show. Nissan is skipping the Detroit show this year.

Public access to the show starts on February 13th at 10am. Tickets prices are $10 for adults and only $5 for children.

McCormick Place is located at 2301 South Martin Luther King Drive, Chicago, Illinois, 60616

The closest airport is Chicago Midway Intl. located only 12 miles from the convention center.

The official website for the Chicago Auto Show is http://www.chicagoautoshow.com/ On the website you can purchase tickets and find information on transportation and hotels.

3. 2009 Cleveland Auto Show will be held February 28th - March 8th at the I-X .

Tickets are $12.00 for adults and $9.50 for children 7 and up.

Last year almost 650,000 people attended the Cleveland Auto show. The official site for the 2009 Cleveland Auto Show is http://www.clevelandautoshow.com

There will be many ride and drive events at the 2009 show.

I-X Center is located at One IX Center Drive Cleveland, OH 44135

4. 2009 New York International Auto Show will be held April 10 - 19 at the Jacob Javits Convention Center.

Adult tickets are $14 and children 2 an up are $4.

The official website of the 2009 New York International Auto show is http://www.autoshowny.com/show

You can purchase and print tickets directly from the site.

I have previously written an article of hotels near the Javits center here

One show that I wish I could attend is the SEMA show. Unfortunately SEMA is never open to the general public. The SEMA 2009 show will be held November 3 - 6 at the Las Vegas convention center
