This year's Fall Fashion Week by Mercedes Benz concluded on Thursday Sept 17, in New York City. Originally the show opened as an alternative for journalists who could not travel to France during World War II, in 1943. It was the press syndicate Eleanor Lamber which gave origination efforts to form the American show. Now many popular designers sold in the U.S. and abroad attend the event to unveil the next season's trends. Not to be fooled, the average unknowing sort of consumer my take the wording of the season to conceive it reflects the current timing and fashions. Not so, in fact what was displayed on this late summer runway will not be the craze until Spring 2010.

Taking some time to view the entire show I made a list of my favorite designers and a few pieces that caught my eye. While I am the type of dresser that stays on the norm, I do enjoy the rare marveled at uniqueness witnessed from this year's show. With several dozen to names and labels on view, I picked my best five. Considering a few of them are not the most commonly recognized, the styles had the highest of integrity.

1. Mara Hoffman, on stage Sept. 10 at 10 am, designs for women dress. The bright and brilliant arrangement of patterns on the free-flowing dresses presents an attention grabber. Multi-colored themes, intertwined with an almost mathematical illusional quality of the mid length sheer delicate fabric ensemble opened my wildest wants at new look. Complete accessories and shoe wears develop the sophisticated concept well.

2. DKNY, Donna Karen New York, on stage Sept. 13 at 1pm designs for men and women. Donna Karen started her career as a designer for Anne Klein in 1982. Her own label was founded at on sale by 1989. Awarded the Glamour 2007 Women of the Year, she began her line with women's apparel. In 1992 the menswear concept took an evolutionary approach at the 7 piece concept of clothing to be interchangeable and reaching the needs of international lifestyle through the reputation of New York. Now the collections include jeans, kids wear, intimates, hosiery, active wear, and now for the home. The runway gave the most insightful approach at the women's suit, in my opinion. A long sleeved jacket, accompanied with wide legged shorts, rolled up at the cuffs in a grey pin-strip coordinated soft cloth was my most adored real life need- have for a wardrobe. Bright coral toned pinks and oranges in tops and matching shoes were marvelous.

3. Academy of Arts, on stage Sept. 12 at 2 pm designing the eccentric. This effort from the educating future of fashion was an enjoyable entertainment addition. Unrealistic for my taste, with dresses, and casual attires the patterns never seen before were from out of this world! One key movement in their designs was the attached waist belt in white. A come back from way back, this separating accessory set it's own flare among the pinks and other glowing schemes.

4. Michael Kors, on stage Sept. 16 10 am designs for men and women. A refreshing an uplifting concept of this line was sheer and shiny. A hazed over grey, silver, and offset black color re occurrence in both fashions compliments a harmony of ease and upscale manners. The men's suit I felt most fascinate by in a leathery type of fabric was one of a kind. This look, worn with a softer cotton shirt gave the appearance of paint rolled splashes. Also, the new handbags of the spring are small and acquaintance with evening wear needs.

5. Duckie Brown on stage Sept. 10 at 1 pm designs for men only. Founded in 2001 by Steven Cox, and Daniel Silver, their hand tailored men's collection is one spectacular movement. The See-through, sheer, and delicate fabrics are a lost use of attraction in men's designs. Light weight textures with the browns and deep reds show a different kind of robe like apparel. Plaids and clear whites worn with hats and sexy eye wear set this show off right.
