2009 Fall Fashion for Women in Their 70s

I recently took my mother-in-law shopping, who is the young age of 76, for new fall clothes. On this shopping trip I was able to get an insight into the fashions that are appealing to her and other women in their 70s. I found while strolling the mall with her that there is no barrier in fashion when it comes to age. Below I have listed some of the fall fashions that were being looked at, and purchased by women in their 70s on my trip to the mall.

Pants:

At JcPenny the DonnKenny two pocket pants were favored by many. This pant has an elastic waist band for comfort, and hidden pockets. This pant is available in black, chocolate, purple, Khaki, navy and charcoal. This pant is a real bargain priced at $14.99 for seniors who are on a tight budget.

For everyday wear I noticed many women looking at the Alfred Dunner Denim Pull on Pants at JcPenny. These pants have the classic jean look, with an elastic waist band for comfort. This pant is priced at $29.99 to $34.99 depending on the size needed.

Sweaters:

The Designers Original Long Sleeve Cardigan priced at $27.99 is another great buy from JcPenny. This cardigan is 100% cotton and is available in brown, everglade green, topaz and oatmeal. The East 5Th shell for $14.95 is available in the same colors as the cardigan.

Dresses:

At Kohl's the AB Studio Brushstroke Pleated dress is perfect at the price of $34.99. This dress is made with a light soft material making it great for church functions, weddings or evening dinner dates.

Coats:

At Kohl's the Croft and Barrow Faux Suede coat for $112.50 is perfect for the cold weather. It is a soft coat with faux fur trim and detachable hood. This jacket has a zipper front, and 3 pockets available in brown in cream.

Shirts:

For everyday wear the Sonoma life style floral Tees at Kohl's are available in various colors and patterns starting at $11.99. These are great for lounging around the home, shopping, or the ladies late night card game.

Another everyday shirt is the Landsend Womens Traditional Pattern Long Sleeve Mesh Polo Shirt which can be worn with jeans, or Khakis. This shirt is prices at $29.95 at Landsend.

Active wear:

At JcPenny's the SJB Active Velour Jacket and Pants both priced at $19.99 each are available in various colors for the days when you want to talk a walk around the neighborhood or mall.

The one thing I noticed that was important in the fall fashions for the women in the 70s besides style was the comfort and fit. While many of the pants are available without elastic waistbands, I did notice the women who were shopping that day preferred to purchase those pants with that option. The long sleeve and short sleeve Polo's were also another article of clothing that were being purchased as they are versatile. One thing was certain, there are many seniors who are going to look fabulous this fall with the clothing that is available by many designers.
