2009 Fantasy Football Wide Receiver Sleeper Draft Picks

Review of Top 5 Fantasy Football Sleeper WR for the 2009 -2010 Season

Here are the exclusive 2009 Fantasy Football Wide Receiver Sleeper Draft Picks.

1) Eddie Royal.

The Number 1 Sleeper Wide Receiver Coming into the 2009 season is going to be Eddie Royal. He won't go under the radar like he did last year putting up huge numbers especially in the first few weeks while Brandon Marshall was serving a suspension but what will be a surprise is how he tops even last year. With Marshall's season in question and a looming suspension Royal will at least benefit at the beginning of the season as the lone threat on the Broncos. The loss of Jay Cutler has dropped his value in many league formats but he production will ultimately grow if not explode under an eager Kyle Orton putting Royal up with the top ten not just for the beginning of the season but a solid Fantasy Football producer throughout.

2) Braylon Edwards.

The second on my Fantasy Football Wide Receiver List is a usual juggernaut. Braylon Edwards has come off of a major disappointing season and with the loss of Donte Stallworth and their Pro Bowl Tight End in Winslow he is anticipated to be focused in on by the defense and lose even more production. There is are two words that every Fantasy Football Champion learns to jump to no matter how down on a player you might be. "Contract Year"!! Edwards is in a contract year and with all of the shake-ups in Cleveland Braylon is not only looking to get paid but to stay on a team where he has established roots and a place in the community. Edwards should reward any Fantasy Football teams willing to hear the magical words "Contract Year" blowing in the wind.

3) Chad Johnson.

Yes I said it. Chad Johnson has become a curse word in Fantasy Football circles disappointing team after team for what seems to be decades. Last season most teams thought they were getting a steal grabbing Ocho in later rounds but as the Fantasy year progressed nothing could have been further from the truth. A kicker might have been a better choice. This year IS the year for Chad to not only rebound but become the elite Wide Receiver again that he truly is. Fantasy Football is not the only one who has given up on Chad but defenses are going to start to focus elsewhere. Who ever thought 3 years ago Chad Johnson would be a sleeper pick.

4) Anthony Gonzalez.

Many experienced Fantasy Football leagues will already have Gonzalez high on there radar, but I suspect not high enough. Remember the days where Harrison and Wayne would both catch 100yds and TD's on a weekly basis. Well those days are back except Harrison has been replaced with a quicker and bigger target in Gonzalez. Anthony has been nothing but consistent in improving his Fantasy Football numbers year over year and will not only improve in 2009 but beat Reggie Wayne in total points and stats for the foreseeable future.

5) Sidney Rice.

Minnesota has to have a receiver come out of the dark at some point this season. The question is which one. The upgrade at quarterback is one reason but the famous third year is up for Rice. Typically the third year for a receiver is their breakout year, and Rice should be a typical one for Fantasy Football points improving yards and TD's by at least 50% putting him towards the top the WR list.

Nice with Ochocinco and Rice - but anyone that picked Royal, Gonzo or Edwards got totally hosed. Rice is still a sleeper in my opinion for 2010 (if Favre returns that is) as most will still be drafting name-guys like Wayne, Fitz, Colston before Rice...and Rice may get similar numbers for a few rounds later!
