Indiana's largest fireworks display, Freedom Blast, will blast off from the Region's Bank Tower at 9:45pm on Saturday, July 4, 2009. The impressive display will be synchronized to music. Tune in to the radio station WFBQ (94.7 FM) to listen along with the show. This tremendous fireworks show is an Indianapolis tradition, and thousands gather to witness the spectacle throughout Indianapolis. Family friendly events take place throughout Indianapolis all day, culminating in the fireworks display at 9:45. As the display can be seen throughout the city, there is no admission for the Indianapolis' Freedom Blast event.

The Regions Bank Tower is located at One Indiana Square; that's Monument Circle, the middle of Indianapolis. This central location makes viewing Indianapolis' fireworks display easy. I recommend taking lawn chairs or blankets to Military Park, University Park, or even just relaxing on the steps of IUPUI's library.

Celebrate the Fourth of July in Indianapolis with your family all day. The Indianapolis State Museum, War Memorial, and many other downtown Indianapolis locations offer special family events before the night's fireworks begin. Try the Eiteljorg Museum, on Washington and West Street. Admission to the Museum is free from 10 am to 5pm on July 4. The Eiteljorg's Canal Family Fest begins at 4:30pm, sponsoring games, crafts, music, and more. Sky City Café will cater a BBQ buffet for $18.95 for adults and $9.95 for kids. Either stay and watch Indianapolis' fireworks display from the Café's terrace for a peaceful evening along the Canal, or walk down the block on West Street for an Indian's game and a view of the Freedom Blast from Victory Field.

For truly outstanding seats, go to the Indianapolis Indians game at Victory Field on Saturday, July 4. The Indianapolis Indians battle the Louisville Bats beginning at 6pm. After the game, stay to see Victory Field's own fireworks display before Indianapolis' launches Freedom Blast at 9:45. Visitors are welcome keep their seats for Indiana's largest fireworks display. Indianapolis Indians tickets run $9-13 for adults and $8-12 for kids 14 and under.

Regardless of how you celebrate the Fourth of July in Indianapolis, whether by the canal, at the museums, at the ballpark, or in your own special way, remember to practice safety with all personal fireworks. And definitely don't miss Indianapolis' Freedom Blast, the largest fireworks display in Indiana. It will be a night to remember for you and you're family!
