The schedule is as follows:
Sunday, March 29: At 7:00 PM, there will be a showing of the Academy Award-winning film, "Milk," the story of Harvey Milk, the first openly gay elected official in California. If you have not seen this historic and moving film, you are truly missing out. This event will take place in Leggett 537.
Monday, March 30: This day has been deemed Gay Day, and comes with a guest speaker, Professor Farr, at 7:00 PM in the Smith Banquet Hall.
Tuesday, March 31: Tuesday's even is Safe Zone training. This trains folks to provide safe havens for those going through trials due to their sexual orientation, such as shunning from families, as well as religious persecution. There are two sessions. One is at 1:30 PM, and the other is at 6:30 PM. This will take place in the Student Center.
Wednesday, April 1: This event is one not to be missed! There is going to be a student drag show in the Student Center at 9:00 PM. Even though professional drag shows are the best, this show is sure to be entertaining. Come join me as I cheer on my friends, Sam and Courtenay.
Thursday, April 2: There will be a panel on Homosexuality and Religion, at 6:00 PM, in the Student Center. My friend, Sam, has reiterated that it is not a debate. Different figureheads will be discussing their views on the melding, or opposing forces of homosexuality and religion. One of the "most looked forward to," and one of the most controversial speakers is Lou Wieder, a professor from Liberty University.
Friday, April 3: This event concludes Gay Awareness Week at Randolph College. It's a very-much looked-forward to PROFESSIONAL drag show! If you've never been to a professional drag show, this is a must-attend event! This will take place at 11:00 PM, in the Smith Banquet Hall.
If you're a student at Randolph, any of the surrounding colleges, or if you're curious or supportive, please stop by this week, and visit one or more of these events. And please, be sure to tell and bring by all of your friends!
