Halloween will be here shortly and you'll want to be prepared. If you enjoy getting scared during the Halloween season, check out this guide to Nashville, Tennessee's local haunted houses.

Haunted Nashville: Haunted Nashville is a complex of haunted attractions, which includes: Turbidite Manor, House of Distortion, and Riddles of Horror. Haunted Nashville is open from September 25 through November 1, 2009. On Fridays September 25, October 2, and October 9 and Saturdays September 26, October 3, and October 10, the haunted house is open from 7:30-10:30pm. The haunted house is also open on Fridays October 16, 23, and 30 from 7:30pm to 12am and Saturdays October 17, 24, and 31 from 12-3pm and from 7:30pm to 12am. In addition, this local haunted attraction is open on Sundays October 4, 11, 18, 25, and November 1 from 7:30-10:30pm and Wednesday October 28 and Thursday October 29 from 7:30-10:30pm.

Haunted Nashville is wheelchair accessible. Tickets cost $13 for one attraction, $18 for two attractions, and $23 to see all three haunted attractions and may be purchased on-line in advance. Slash passes are also available for $30. With a slash pass, you will wait a minimal amount of time to be admitted to the haunted attraction, receive free merchandise, and have the opportunity for other special offers. Dead Land: Dead Land is a haunted attraction in Nashville, Tennessee, which also merits a visit this Halloween season. This haunted attraction is unique in that it is a trail through the woods where you will be scared along the way. The trail is 1.2 miles in length, and the website recommends individuals with physical limitations, such as heart problems, asthma or other breathing difficulties, or pregnant women not take this walk for safety reasons.

Dead Land is open from September 25 through October 31. More specifically, you may visit this haunted attraction on Fridays and Saturdays from 7pm to midnight. It costs $15 to travel through this haunted woods, and cash is the only payment method accepted. Dead Land is located at 7040 Murfreesboro Road. Scream Creek: Scream Creek is another haunted woods in Nashville, Tennessee, which you may want to visit this season. Scream Creek is a haunted woods tour and is not meant for young children, according to its website. Scream Creek is open on Friday and Saturday nights in the month of October. The attraction opens at dark, with the last ticket to the event being sold at 10pm each Friday and Saturday night. Tickets to Scream Creek cost $12 each. Alternatively, you may purchase a combination ticket for $15 to enjoy Scream Creek, a nightmare hayride, and the flashlight maze.

At dusk, you and your family can explore the corn maze with your flashlight. You must either bring your own flashlight for the maze or purchase one on the farm. Additionally, at dusk, hayrides are given that you and your family and friends may enjoy. The Honeysuckle Hill Farm is open on weekends from September 19 through October 31. It offers many fun activities for families and children, including two corn mazes, one of which is specially designed for kids, hayrides, flashlight maze, a pumpkin patch, a cow train, an apple orchard, a petting farm, and more. It costs $9 per person to get into Honeysuckle Farm. In addition, you may purchase a combination pass to visit Honeysuckle Hill Farm and Scream Creek for $19. Devil's Dungeon: Another haunted house you may want to visit is Devil's Dungeon. This haunted house features more than 40,000 square feet of haunting fun and is wheelchair accessible. Devil's Dungeon is open on Thursday October 29, Friday October 30, and Saturday October 31, 2009. Admission to this haunted house costs $13 per person.

Death Row - Sanitarium of Slaughter: Death Row - Sanitarium of Slaughter is yet another local Nashville haunted house you should consider visiting this Halloween season. This haunted house is open from September 18 through October 31. The attraction is open for tours from 7pm to midnight every Friday and Saturday night throughout the Halloween season. Admission to Death Row - Sanitarium of Slaughter is $12 per person and cash is the only method of payment accepted at this facility.

Death Row - Sanitarium of Slaughter also has a concessions stand (an ambulance) both before you enter the house and after you exit where you can purchase soft drinks, snacks, glow sticks, glow arm bands, and glow necklaces.
