The 2009 Honda Accord is now listed as a full size vehicle, larger in size than previous generation Accords that were classified as mid-size sedans. However, the 2009 Honda Accord coupe still qualifies as mid-size. The 2009 Honda Accord is available in numerous different trim levels that offer something for everyone at different price points.
The base model 2009 Honda Accord is the Accord LX. The LX starts at only $20,905. Though a base model, the LX still comes equipped with many features including a 2.4 liter 4 cylinder engine that outputs 177 hp and 161 lb.-ft of torque. The engine is classified as an ultra low emission engine. Other Features on the LX include a five speed manual transmission or an available 5 speed automatic transmission. The LX models comes with standard A/C, power locks, ABS, cruise control an so on. The LX model is listed by the EPA at 22 mpg city and 31 mpg highway.
Stepping up from the base LX to the EX gets you additional features at a price of $23,605. The EX expands on the LX by adding the availability of a navigation system, heated side mirrors, halogen headlights, automatic up and down windows, a leather wrapped steering wheel, dual zone climate control and several other features.
The top of the line model for the 2009 Honda Accord is the EX V-6. This model starts at $26,605. For the additional money you get a 3.5 liter V6 engine that outputs 271 hp and 254 lb.-ft of torque. The engine is paired with a 5 speed automatic transmission. The EPA lists the V-6 model at 19 mpg city and 29 mpg highway. Additional features with the v-6 model include chrome door handles, dual exhaust, larger wheels and tires, hood struts, fog lights, chrome window trim and several other add on features.
Honda also offers the Accord in a 2 door coupe style. The coupe follow along with the same model designations listed for the sedan, but adds a few additional features and a slightly higher base price. Pricing for the coupe models are LX-S $22,405, EX $23,705, and EX V-6 $28,955.
The 2009 Honda Accord coupe offers a rewarding driving experience for a family sedan. All models handle well and deliver a sporting drive. The 4 cylinder models never feel lacking for power and return good fuel economy numbers. The V-6 provides sports car like acceleration in a family sedan package. Honda has a strong reputation for reliability and a stellar track record for build quality. The 2009 Honda Accord is a good buy in the family sedan class.
