David Wright will win the 2009 National League MVP Award. Wright is a two time Gold Glove Award Winner (2007, 2008) and his batting statistics are unreal. In 2008 Wright batted .302 with 33 HR, 124 RBI, 115 Runs, and 15 stolen bases. I expect the Mets to finish first the in NL East (sorry Philly) and Wright will win another Gold Glove in 2009, both will help his chances as NL MVP. Wright has played 160 games three of the last four seasons with the Mets and is a constant producer for New York. Unfortunately for the Mets, their pitching staff has plagued them over the last couple years late in the season. The Mets are highly improved due to their bullpen and a healthy Carlos Delgado, and a strong 2009 performance by the Mets would help Wright win the NL MVP.
National League Cy Young: Johan Santana, New York Mets
The addition of J.J. Putz and Francisco Rodriguez to the bullpen will significantly help the Mets throughout the entire season as I stated in David Wright's case for winning the NL MVP Award. The better bullpen will directly impact Santana by adding several wins to his resume. Santana's 16-7 record may turn into a 20-3 record in 2008 with better bullpen support. Santana ended his 2008 campaign with a 2.53 ERA and over 200 strikeouts. Santana had been having some elbow problems early in spring training but has bounced back to have a very solid spring and will be ready to start on opening day.
Other contenders for NL MVP: Jose Reyes, Albert Pujols, Ryan Howard, Jimmy Rollins
Other contenders for NL Cy Young: Tim Lincecum, Brandon Webb, Jake Peavy

Post a Commentwow! one this guy is a joke.... mets mets mets haha... come on pujols is the best player in the NL and AL.. he is way underpaid and gets the job done yeat in and year out best by far, i know this was a prediction but still you are messed up, and two ya marlins SS rameriz doesnt have as much support but pujols idint have as much either until holliday and derosa so dont give me that... if pujols were to die tomorrow he would get into the hall of fame even tho he only has 9 yrs in the league when you have to have 10.... hes just that good!
Another biased Mets clown. I love it. How about dem Mutts. Phils '10 3 time NL Champs
seriously? there is NO clear way that anyone else could win the NL mvp except pujols. he's without a doubt the most deserving and dont anyone pull any ryn howard crap! for every rbi howard gets he has 3 strike outs. pujols strikeouts very rarely and always leads the league for LEAST ammount
Very nice prognostications, son. Can you tell me who to bet in the 5th race at Freehold tomorrow?
what a Joke....
This guy is totally biased about Met's players. He doesn't understand that there are far better playerson other teams than Wright and Santana. Get a clue.
there is no contest... pujols has put up numbers every year for the past nine years like nobody else. its very easy
the great marlins short stop does not have pujols's supporting cast.
maybe the mets bias got the best of you
Obviously my pre-season prediction was wrong as Pujols should be the hands down pick (as of now) to win the NL MVP
