2009 Movie Preview - Watchmen Movie. You've probably started seeing the television commercials for the DC Comic-based movie the Watchmen due out in theaters on March 6th by now! The Watchmen movie is based on the limited series comic by the same name that DC Comics issued in the mid-1980's. The setting is based on a crime-conspiracy which provides a behind-the-scenes look of the lives of the super heros in an alternate mid-1980's Cold-War United States. The movie follows the masked vigilante hero, Rorschach while he looks into the murder of a former colleague while discovering a plot to destroy the Earth!
