2009 NFL Week 13 Predictions

No need for much of an introduction to the 2009 NFL Week 13 schedule. A 14-2 record last week will speak for itself.....

Buffalo 20, NY Jets 14: Can a new coach, new philosophy, and renewed spirit create a new hope for the Bills? New York has struggled within the division this season and may struggle against a rejuvenated Buffalo team.

Chicago 17, St. Louis 13: Though the Bears have had a disappointing season they are playing one of the worst, if not the worst, teams in the NFL. The Rams will use Week 13 to rack up loss number 11.

Houston 27, Jacksonville 20: Which Texans team will show up in Week 13? Which Jaguar team will show up in Week 13? If either team plays to their potential this will be a competitive contest. Statistically Houston is the better team and will play with more guts this week.

Carolina 24, Tampa Bay 17: The Panthers will run and the Buccaneers will not be able to stop them. Don't look for superb defense from either side in this game.

Denver 17, Kansas City 10: AFC West divisional games are always scary for the Broncos. This could be one of those surprise wins for the Chiefs but most likely it will turn out to be a win for the Broncos. Denver better win if they want to hold onto their playoff hopes!

Indianapolis 31, Tennessee 24: Though New England was a tough game, this may be the best chance so far for Indi to see their first loss. The Titans have won five straight and are playing gritty ball, but it's hard to predict against the Colts when they are one of two unbeaten teams in the NFL.

Philadelphia 21, Atlanta 14: The thought originally was to pick the Falcons to win because they are unbeaten at home and neither team has looked impressive in the last few weeks. But with Matt Ryan out with turf toe the fate of Atlanta is resting on the shoulders of Chris Redman. The Eagles are statistically better on offense and defense.

New England 30, Miami 20: The Patriots looked dazed and confused on Monday night. Bill Belichick won't let it happen again, especially against the Dolphins. Miami has the tools but hasn't learned how to finish a game yet.

New Orleans 27, Washington 17: As the Saints march through the NFL the Redskins will become just one more victim. The high powered offense coupled with an above average defense is laying the foundation for an incredible season.

Pittsburgh 21, Oakland 16: If the Steelers want to keep pace in the playoff hunt they will have to take advantage of a dysfunctional Raiders team. With the change in quarterbacks Oakland seems to have become a more competitive team and has played decently against tough opponents. However Ben Roethleisberger is supposed to be back and will get Pittsburgh back on track.

Cincinnati 24, Detroit 9: The Bengals tend to play to the level of their competition. If the Lions were any better you could make an argument that the Bengals better look out. Alas Detroit is bad, Cincinnati will win, and that will be that.

San Diego 30, Cleveland 13: The Chargers have reeled of six straight wins and besides the two unbeaten teams is the hottest squad in the NFL. With Week 13 being a contest against the lowly Browns they will put another notch in their belt.

Dallas 17, NY Giants 13: This game can easily go either way. The Cowboys have not been very consistent and the Giants have been ghastly. Maybe the energy of a meaningful divisional game will motivate these teams to step it up. Look for the Dallas offense to be slightly better than the New York defense.

San Francisco 20, Seattle 16: The 49ers will need to continue with their improved offensive game plan if they hope to have a chance at the playoffs. The Seahawks could issue a huge blow to those hopes if they stick to the air and attack the Niners secondary.

Minnesota 31, Arizona 14: Matt Leinart may be the Cardinals' quarterback again in Week 13. He had a decent showing in Week 12 but will face a vastly superior defense this week. The Vikings have been dominant and will take advantage of a banged up Cardinals team.

Baltimore 17, Green Bay 14: The Packers have had a nice three game win streak and appear to finally have their offensive line protecting the quarterback. The Baltimore defense will be too much for Green Bay to handle though and will put pressure on Aaron Rodgers the whole game. The Ravens will need this Week 13 win to keep up in the playoff race.
