Other quarterbacks reaping huge fantasy rewards in the 2009 NFL Week 7 schedule? I love Matt Schaub for a huge fantasy week. The Texans are hosting the 49'ers and Schaub has been rolling of late. He's turned out to be quite a stellar fantasy performer. That won't change this week when Schaub passes for 350 yards and 3 touchdowns or more. Texans Air continues to take flight.
Aaron Rodgers could put up huge numbers in Cleveland. Rodgers is a fantasy stud during week 7 of the fantasy football season and musters 290 yards and 3-4 touchdowns.
Who won't be putting up huge numbers in the 2009 NFL Week 7 Fantasy projections? I don't like Drew Brees this week although he proved me wrong last week. Brees will probably get 250 yards or less and 2 touchdowns or less. Still good numbers but not very Brees-like this season. Look for Miami to take away the pass in lieu of the run.
Brett Favre will struggle at Pittsburgh and may have an old time interception game with 2-3 picks. Favre has been very consistent this year and his touchdown to interception ratio is low. That is until this week! The Pittsburgh defense will make Favre show his age, or at least his lack of patience, for once. Favre struggles with under 200 yards passing and just 1 TD pass.
Other fantasy projections and predictions for NFL Week 7? I like Tom Brady, Eli Manning, Tony Romo and Jay Cutler to do at or above average in fantasy projections. My gut says Matt Ryan, Philip Rivers, and Kurt Warner all struggle this week or end a bit under average.
Running back projections in NFL Week 7 Fantasy Football? DeAngelo Wiliams is my fantasy stud for the week. Williams runs for 2 touchdowns and 150 yards against visiting Buffalo. The Bills might stop the Panthers passing game. But they won't slow down DeAngelo unless Stewart gets more carries.
Marion Barber could also have a huge game. 1-2 touchdowns or more against visiting Atlanta. Barber might not top 100 yards but he'll find paydirt one or two times against the visiting Falcons. He's always in the end zone and that's why fantasy footballer's love the guy.
Cedric Benson could get over 100 yards against Chicago and that's saying something. But in my fantasy football head I predict Benson will struggle to reach the century mark despite a good number of carries. He'll hit 78 yards on 20 or more carries and have one score against the Bears.
Adrian Peterson? He's good for at least one score every game isn't he? He didn't score last week so that means he might double up this week against Pittsburgh. 2 touchdowns and 103 yards for Peterson.
Other running backs? Joseph Addai might have 1-2 touchdowns for the Colts and 100 yards after they build a rather large first half lead. Rashard Mendenhall could equal those stats if Willie Parker doesn't steal the spotlight for Pittsburgh once again. Flip a coin on those two fantasy running backs. In this game I say Parker gets 80 yards and Mendenhall gets 50 as things get more back to normal. Ryan Grant will be held in check in Cleveland with under 100 yards and 1 or less touchdowns.
Receivers I like for the 2009 NFL Week 7 NFL Fantasy Football Projections? Reggie Wayne is a no-brainer. Wayne gets at least 2 touchdown catches and easily tops the 100 yard mark against St. Louis. Greg Jennings is a 2 touchdown and 100 yard performer as the Packers win at Cleveland. Andre Johnson gets 135 yards and 2 scores for the Texans. Randy Moss catches 1-2 touchdown passes on the road at Tampa Bay but his yardage numbers won't be over 100.
Who might struggle in Week 7 of the 2009 Fantasy season? Chad Ocho-Cinco will have his work cut out for him against the Bears. Look for 50 yards or less and no scores. Anquan Boldin won't put up big numbers in New York against the Giants. And Steve Smith will find it tough going against Buffalo.
Defenses I like this week? Indianapolis, Green Bay and San Diego. Defenses you don't want to start for the 2009 NFL Week 7 Fantasy season? Other than the obvious if you somehow managed to get St. Louis or Cleveland in your fantasy draft? If you did, your season was probably over then anyway. Seriously, I think Minnesota might have a tough time slowing down Pittsburgh. The Vikings defense hasn't been amazing anyway giving up quite a few points this year. But this definitely isn't the week I would expect big numbers from them.
That's it for the 2009 NFL Week 7 Fantasy projections and predictions. We'll be back next week for Week 8 projections!
