Peyton Manning could have a monster game against San Francisco. Let's face it, the 49'ers have been out in left field on defense and Peyton is having a huge year with the undefeated Colts. Peyton should have some of the best fantasy quarterback numbers in Week 8. I say Peyton tosses 3 touchdown passes and 305 yards against the 49'ers.
Other quarterbacks I project to do well in the 2009 NFL Week 8 Fantasy Schedule? Philip Rivers should be a stud against Oakland. Rivers could toss 3 TD Passes and 280 yards or more in the win over the Raiders. I also like Matt Schaub at Buffalo. It'll be cold and windy and he might not have the highest completion percentage of the season but he'll still hover around the 250 yard mark with 2 scores or more. Kurt Warner could be gangbusters against visiting Carolina. Look for Warner to air it out big time with 3 touchdowns and 255 yards against the Panthers.
Also in my 2009 NFL Week 8 Fantasy Projections we have Brett Favre returning to Lambeau Field. My gut tells me that Favre will play well in the first half before struggling in the 2nd half. Favre 215 yards, 2 TD's and 2 Interceptions against the Packers. Rodgers is nearly the opposite. Rodgers will play under average in the first half before finishing strong. Just like a good movie, Rodgers comes out with a victory and 290 yards passing and 2 touchdowns in the win.
Tony Romo could be back on the fantasy football projections hot watch against Seattle. Romo with 260 yards passing and 3-4 touchdowns against the Seahawks. Jay Cutler will also be back with 245 yards and 2-3 TD passes against Cleveland.
Who won't do well in the 2009 NFL Week 8 Fantasy projections? Jake Delhomme will continue to struggle. Less than 175 yards passing and 2-3 interceptions. Kyle Orton is going to struggle big time at Baltimore. 3 Interceptions and just 150 yards passing with no touchdowns. Matt Ryan could struggle against New Orleans putting up good fantasy numbers. Ryan throws for 210 and 2-3 interceptions against the Saints.
Running backs I like in the 2009 NFL Week 8 Schedule? Matt Forte should get things going with the Bears against Cleveland. 2 touchdowns as the Bears have perhaps their best fantasy day overall of the season.
Chris Johnson of Tennessee could rumble for 150 yards or more and 3 touchdowns against Jacksonville.
Marion Barber is probably going to get a lot of carries when Dallas builds a big lead against Seattle. Look for Barber to gain around 110 yards and score twice.
Who will struggle? Adrian Peterson will have a tough going in Green Bay. 80 yards and 1 TD or less in my week 8 fantasy predictions. Ryan Grant will also have a tougher time against the Vikings. 75 yards and 1 touchdown.
Wide Receivers for the 2009 NFL Week 8 Fantasy Schedule? It's a broken record but I like Reggie Wayne(just mark him down most weeks as a lock). Wayne with 110 yards and 1 touchdown. Donald Driver with 89 yards and 1 TD against Minnesota. Devin Hester breaks out for the Bears with 2 TD catches against Cleveland. Vincent Jackson is a lock for 100 yards and 1-2 scores for the Chargers.
Defenses I like? San Diego is money against Oakland. The Raiders were blanked last week and they'll be under 10 this week. The Jets should be strong against Miami. Baltimore could do a number on Denver.
That's it for my 2009 NFL Week 8 Fantasy Predictions and Projections. We'll be back in Week 9 with more predictions you can hang your hat on. Or just throw into the garbage. Just remember, it's all fun and games until your fantasy quarterback gets injured.
