The costume contest brings a lot of unique costumes that are either put together or handmade. Some people take months to make their costume and some are just very creative to see. In the past Nightmare on Normal Street events, there have been costumes made from feathers, latex, fake blood, silk, sequence, and all other kinds of unique material.
For people who have never been to "Nightmare on Normal Street", you are definitely in for a very sweet treat. This fundraising event helps the San Diego LGBT center so the proceeds will go to them. Just remember to bring your friends and come support our LGBT community. Feel free to come in costume or just as yourself.
This year's 2009 "nightmare on normal street" will happen on normal street in hillcrest from 6:00 pm - 10:00 pm (the cross street is university ave). If you do not know where that is, please feel free to get directions beforehand. You also may want to car pool with friends especially if you are going to be drinking.
The cost to get in will be $5.00, which is a great price compared to other Halloween events around town. You may want to get there early to find parking since it will be crowded. Also there will
be lines to get in so remember to have everything ready before you go in.
For more information about this event you can go to the San Diego LGBT center or contact them at (619) 692-2077. You may also view the SD LGBT center website at: www.thecentersd.org.
Have a great LGBT Halloween and remember to stay safe! Remember if you are going to be drinking alcohol, you should not drive but have someone that is sober pick you up.
